A full moon in Moonlight Falls is a special event that is both feared celebrated. When the moon rises ominously over the mountains, strange things take their course in the city… and even the animals feel it. This special night is especially popular with fairies and witches, because their strength is at its strongest, and they are happiest. Some common sims who absorb the eerie glow of the moon will be swallowed by the night and get a different personality. Stressed-out, insane, or sims who are receptive to the supernatural are particularly susceptible. Take good care that you will not be beaten or hugged by a sim addicted to the moon, who was overwhelmed by the moonlight!
Other sims dismiss these strange happenings as “magic junk” and close their eyes and doors to everything that does not meet the standard. (If your sim is by chance afraid of ghosts, he should avoid the cemetery on this particular night, as like the light of the full moon.)
Word has it that the stranger, more “eccentric” city residents gather at the rise of the full moon. No one knows exactly what they’re up to, but the cowardly sims prefer to await the end of said night in the safety of their beds. Your werewolf neighbors are forced to turn, and your dear friends in the city could be the victim of zombification, causing an uncanny appetite for the brains of other sims. If your sim hears a howl or a deep groan at night, he might not be imagining it this time.
Too dark? Too creepy? Do not worry! You can customize the moon to your taste. For many sims the full moon was the only thing they knew for many years. There was no half-moon, no new moon and no. That must have been a pretty sad state. In Moonlight Falls the moon seems, well … every day a little different. By default, the moon goes through a number of different phases.
The length of the entire cycle can be changed in the options window. If you don’t like all this modern lunar cycle stuff and would prefer everything to stay the same, you can also set that! You can set the moon phase to always stay the same, and determine wich it should be. If you want to experience a zombie apocalypse, or if you just enjoy seeing your werewolf suffer, set every night to be a full moon. Then it’s never boring at night! (Or if your attitude towards regular zombie attacks tends to be “no thank you” let a beautiful, safe shine every night. With a waxing gibbous moon nothing bad ever happens!)
After the full moon has sunk on the horizon, Moonlight Falls returns back to normal. Those Sims who were unlucky and were affected by zombification suddenly acknowledge their wrongdoing and make their way home. Werewolves return to their sim form, but are a little mixed up and confused. Witches and fairies lose their increased power and satisfaction, wich were caused by the moon. In ordinary sims, who behaved somewhat unusual during the full moon, the crazy feelings fade, and everything is back to normal … or at least as normal as it can be in Moonlight Falls.
