This about my second forum I have seen ever sense I started looking up Sims 4 and it seems that when people hear multiplayer they think online no that’s not always the case well maybe now a days but I might add multiplayer means playing with someone else and if I remember correct sims 2 had a full offline multiplayer mode for ps2 and it utilized a more immersive control scheme and that was my most favorite sims game because it aloud me to play with an actual roommate

I’d love to play multiplayer with my girlfriend when I can’t physically be there to hav our dream life.

I also believe that they should be able to please everyone with this. Don’t knock it before you try it. They wouldn’t deliberately make another game like the sims online because they’ve seen what it did. Also, technology has advananced plenty enough to where they could do it right, if they wanted to. I’m pretty sure what others do in “your world” wouldn’t effect you because they’d implement “developer options” to make it to where the server owner decides who changes stuff. You people shouldn’t be so greedy with the sims franchise. They wouldn’t completely change it, and even I they did, they’d only do it with a standalone title that no one is forced to buy.

You know what worries me? This is from 2012. This is for The Sims 4. So, The Sims 4 was probably meant to be online the entire time. They probably rushed to change it to offline after the SimCity fiasco.

Yes!!! I miss the multiplayer Sims games. I love playing with my partner. Building homes together. They should have never made single player games.

Chances Are Sims 4 will have a Multiplayer Option similar to that of the Age of Empires series. It wouldn’t be required to use, and it would have all sorts of Moderation tools as well as commands. Sims has only had a multiplayer addition once ever, and it was shut down due to profanity. Chances are each person could set up a server and assign it to public or private and people could play the game as they please. I do not however see them making a Multiplayer only game anytime soon. Imagine it’s like Sims Social the Facebook game, only better, and more controlled.

I’m with BloodCrow. I think there should be multiplayer in The Sims 4. But only if done right. None of this always-on EA hosted servers nonsense. Give players the tools to run their own servers and let people connect into their neighborhood and live life with them. That should not detract away from the single-player experience at all. It should be there to enhance the single-player experience by simply adding the ability to play the single player game with your friends as well.

One of the things companies like EA seem to do wrong all the time is that they have this idea of what players want in a multiplayer game that is really built around control. They want to control everything. They say it’s to stop cheating and to make the process streamlined but really it’s all about control. Cheating is built-into the Sims games so if players want to allow it they should be able to. Multiplayer should be geared around small groups/families/LAN’s. NOT online with random strangers.

I think there should be a Multiplayer not like the sims online was but more of a hosting a Multiplayer game I really do think a Multiplayer would benefit the game real well because its never fun to not be able to play with your friends who have the game as well so i think there should be a Multiplayer because people will buy the game no matter what.
