No it will be in the Sims 3 Store on the Site, but you have to buy a specialty Simpoints bundle to get it, like the one for Barnacle Bay they had a while ago.

Also did Anyone notice the foutain picture? THe building to the left has a stained glass window that dipicts a Simolean Symbol, I doubt it is a Bank but an interesting thing to note none the less.

When they say you have to purchase it in game, do they mean the simpoint bundle to get MV is only available in game or the world can be purchased using your simpoints (that you paid real money for)??

Also in addition to my comment, I highly doubt this has anything to do with US laws, because if so, the world would be released in the store for other countries, this seems to be not the case.

I’m with you there. I actually went ahead and purchased a $60 simpoint bundle so I would have enough simpoints for when it comes out, so I’m annoyed. And I’m sure I’m not the only one.

Simply put it’s a cash grab so Simmers spend even more real money vs “Oh I have this many simpoints available” and purchase the town. If EA sells the town for 35$, that is 35$ pocket, if EA sells the town for 3500 Simpoints and a simmer has 3501 simpoints, EA makes no profit excluding pre-existing sales.

This is EA’s new marketing team, you have those who blindly purchase items regarding price and those who resist this type of marketing resulting in disgruntled customers. I absolutely hate this method, so bad move on EA.

I don’t get this at all. They say they can only sell it this way because since it will be released in the stores. Now they did it with Barnacle Bay and Sunlit Tides so I would sure like to know what the difference is. Sorry EA this is as dumb as not being able to gift an expansion any more. Whoever is running Sims doesn’t know what their doing!

Exactly, I can get Monte Vista and the borked Greenhouse lot and still have a tad left over. But I don’t buy tons of Simpoints ahead of time, I buy as things come up that I want. So this isn’t a travisty from my own PoV.

Info for European Simmers around here. According to SimGuru_CZ from Czech Official Forum, Monte Vista + 100 SimPoints bundle will cost €16 and Monte Vista + 1900 SimPoints will cost €28.
Seeing US Simmers will get the cheaper bundle for the same price as 2000 SP bundle while we will pay €2 more (as the 2000 SP bundle costs €14 and the same costs the Barnacle Bay + 100 SP bundle) and the more expensive bundle US simmers will get for US$5 cheaper than the 5000 SP bundle, we will have to pay the same price as for the 5000 SP bundle. Way to go EA, try to skin European Simmers on European town. Grrr.
