Correct. I actually like Katy Perry’s music but am annoyed at how fake she is in regards to the sims. I understand she is getting paid to do this, but it is obvious. She is NOT a fan and knows nothing about it. I feel like it insults the intelligence of the sims fanbase.

Oops, my above comment was not directed to you Bunny. Was supposed to be on it’s own. Btw I completely agree, my younger sister constantly asks me for help when playing, yet she loves the Sims. And her friends don’t even know about the Store and CC and all that stuff. I have to help them with everything but they put a lot of money into the series so I don’t see how anyone can say they’re not “true”fans of the Sims.

Goodness, people are never happy. EA didn’t even put Katy Perry or anything related to her in Supernatural or Seasons. She’s just promoting the game now. She and EA signed a contract so there is NOTHING us fans can do about that now.

please realize that people who criticize her for making claims that are broken apart by her own inability to even understand the most basic elements of the game are in no way talking about her music. Why do people always bring up her music when people are not talking about it, instead focusing solely upon the fact that for someone who calls herself a fan, she doesn’t grasp the basic concepts of the game itself.

This is not about her music, her acting, or her fashion sense, things of which make some people a fan of her, and turn other people off her as a preformer. This is about EA cashing in on a hot brand, and her presenting herself in a way her very statements bring into question.

EA should not even be celebranding the sims anyways.

I don’t “hate” her in some personal kind of way. I am not into her in the slightest though, and don’t want her in my game(s). I understand though, that this is a business thing, and EA and Katy Perry are tryin’ to earn a living, ..and that’s all fine I suppose. I don’t have to like her though, and I have a right to say that…and in fact, SHOULD say that (albeit, in a socially respectful way, imo). Companies won’t know what it is we want or don’t want, if we don’t tell them. It doesn’t mean they don’t hear us, or care, if they don’t abide by our every whim, and sometimes they’re gonna give us ahem, crap, like this. Further, the reasons I don’t want K.P. in my game have NOTHING to do with whether or not she’s an “expert”, or even a little bit knowledgeable of the series (other than the fact that she’s saying she is, so it’s a bit of an integrity issue for me). I don’t know why someone has to be an expert to be able to enjoy something, and after all, we all have to start somewhere don’t we? I’ve been playing The Sims for a long time, as have my kids, but I couldn’t tell you the first thing about the pre-made characters…I’m just haven’t gotten into using them much (I’m just startin’ to now). That doesn’t make me one less bit of a fan than anyone else.
Now then, I think the interview is full of nothin’ but canned responses, and it’s just a bunch of bull crap, but maybe that’s just me because I’m not a fan. I don’t know. Whatever the case, I’m not “hatin’ on her”, I just don’t like her. ..and that’s fair to say.
