Exactly! It’s like the people who keep saying it looks like a mobile platform game. They absolutely have the right to prefer a more “realistic” art STYLE, but they are in reality impugning the game’s GRAPHICS because they do not understand the difference.

I for one love the new art style, the Sims to me has NEVER been about reality. Look at Everquest Landmark, it is an absolutely gorgeous game graphically, with a very clean cartoony art style. It has nothing to do with using a lower end machine, because my Alienware beast is needed to properly display the game on ultimate settings.

Some commenters don’t differenciate between graphics and art style. .. the whole uncanny valley has been explained to death. It is just one of those things were you have to bite your tongue and wait becaise those who don’t get it aren’t going to… So it is a wasted effort to try. Exasperating, absolutely! But I, like you, hope they aren’t overhauling the game to meet unrealistic expectations.

For some reason the fan art reminds me of something from the walking dead… but that’s just me and my perspective. The hue is off and there’s almost a grainy effect on the image. It makes for a harsh contrast to the sims 4, which feels practical ly neon and cartoony whilst side-by-side. I’m sure the sim will look perfectly at home in the game however. I care more for what they’ll be able to do and interact with rather then appearance. The fan art is food, just not to my preferences. No slight on the artist.

I really hope that the reason for lack of info isn’t that they’re overhauling the graphics, because the graphics whores out there can’t wrap their heads around the concept of artistic expression…

Oh mi gawd! They aren’t making the Sims photo realistic!!!!11!eleventyone!!!!

Here’s something to think about… Why not judge the game based on the game itself. Rather than the wrapper over it? Besides, they’ve already improved the hair a bit, going from the photo showcasing the multitasking feature… Just get some texture replacements… Even if most modding is impossible, you can always replace textures…

I don’t think it would cause a huge jump in specs for them to do what that fan did with the sims 4 sims…. It doesn’t look much different… Yes specs would go up if they did that, but not nearly as bad as what people may think it would cause… But this is just my opinion.
