To sum up his response: “You will need to load when you walk onto a different lot in the same neighborhood”

Not the lame Sims 3 fans that only complain. If you’re a fan of The Sims in general, then get every one and switch around when you want to. If you’re only a fan of a certain generation then just play that one!

I was all in with sims 4, but after I found out about the districts and not having an open worlds, I am leaning towards a no… I hope they clarify this (n case we are wrong)

I like seeing where my sim goes as well and it adds to the feel of the world when your playing/building it. I can’t say I love the whole rabbit hole thing but I understand why it’s there because that would surely create some major lag if everything was open, and probably would’ve drove us crazy if we had the option that ambitions gave us with every career. I mean could you imagine trying to keep up to 8 sims on task at their jobs or school at one time? I barely keep one sim happy now without using cheats. That was one good thing about rabbit holes because it gave me time to focus on my other sims for a moment.

With TS4, I’m curious if anyone else saw the pic of the house with what looked like a city in the background and wondered especially after the hint of different neighborhoods if they were actually gonna give us a world with a city, suburbs, and a country/farmland area all in one instead of the one theme like in TS3. I honestly did, and now with the possibility of no rabbit holes, only five lots per neighborhood, etc. I guess that’s not gonna happen. I can’t help but wonder what that world is gonna look like with only houses, bars, parks and museums. I guess there goes any chance of a realistic looking CAW if we get the option somewhere down the line. Yeah this just keeps sounding more and more like TS2. *Sigh*

Oh well I know they can’t make everyone happy, but I do feel like they screwed up with this by making TS3 an open world just to go back to TS2 style no matter how short the loading screens may turn out to be.
I guess we will find out soon enough, but a video to put some of our worries and concerns to rest would be nice. One with some actual game play! I’m so sick of hearing about emotions!

I’ve only seen the complete opposite: loading screen between clusters, then no loading screen between lots within that cluster of 5 lots.

It may be a little hard for you to comprehend this, but different people prefer different things! I’ve never used the open world in Sims 3 much. Logical conclusion: I, personally, won’t lose much with the way worlds work in Sims 4. In the contrary: I’m winning something! I hated the worlds in Sims 3. I was used to worlds that felt alive. None of the worlds in Sims 3 ever felt alive. They felt empty, they felt artificial, they felt a lot more limited than the world in Sims 2, even with it’s loading screens. Now, of course that’s my personal opinion. I don’t expect anyone else to share it. So how about you don’t expect me to share yours?

There are things that would be reason enough for me to not buy the game! I spend most of my time inside of CAS. If they ruined CAS, they would ruin the whole game for me. I would not want to buy it anymore. But I wouldn’t turn into an idiot, whining about the loss of my beloved features night and day. I would just accept the facts, not buy the game and proceed to live my life, hoping for Sims 5 to bring back the CAS I loved.

It makes no sense to complain about an unreleased game! It makes no sense to complain about a game you don’t plan to buy! It makes no sense to complain about a game you haven’t paid for!

To buy or not to buy. That is the question!
If you do, you will have your reasons for it. If you don’t, you will have your reasons for it. It’s really that easy!

If you have played the most recent Sim City you will see that it’s neighborhoods are setup the same way. It sux on there and it will sux in Sims 4. IMO.

I mean what use are they going to be if we even get them in the base game? I personally like watching them move around the world, but always wished they worked like TS2 as far as getting in and backing out onto the road because it looked so real and would’ve been really cool to watch in TS3. I was shocked when I first saw my sim teleport inside their car, of course I was an idiot to think TS3 was gonna have at least some of the same options TS2 had but better and was disappointed with that, burrito babies, and the stupid fact kids couldn’t play the flipping piano! That’s just to name a few but anyway just an observation about having cars in TS4. Any ideas?
