I just wish they wouldn’t give such vague answers and then we wouldn’t have half the issues we seem to have now.
My interest in the game had been slowly simmering and was beginning to rise with an edge of caution as well and then they dropped the news about no toddlers and, even though I rarely play that life stage, my enthusiasm just plummeted.
For every awesome new feature they announce they seem to then follow up by revealing yet another removed feature or aspect of game-play.

Maybe they are going to make swimming look more like real swimming and do not have time to put it in the game at launch.

Google “game development stress” and you’ll find plenty of evidence.

I’m sure some of it comes from the management and from the working hours, but especially nowadays when devs are required to be in constant touch with players as well, I think you can well understand how stressful it must be. There may be unreasonable requirements and constraints coming from above, but where you run into outright hostility and hate is from the so-called “fans” of the game… many of whom (and usually the most vocal segment) treat the devs as their enemies, out to destroy the franchise the fans believe belongs to THEM (never mind that it wouldn’t exist without those very devs).

So yeah. If you feel for them, do what you can to moderate the discussions you take part in. You don’t have to like the game, and even if you do you certainly don’t have to like every piece of it, but what goes in and what doesn’t is not our call. I try to think of it like chess: the game I play is the game I get and I can express opionions but I don’t get a vote on the rules :p
