They’re only doing that because they know that their game is incomplete, so they’re depending on modders to help developing the game…

The opinions of those who simply “complain” are just as valid as those who rave about the game.

I’m not as excited about Sims 4 because it isn’t what I was expecting it to be, but nonetheless I love the series; and as a fan I’m going to voice my displeasure because silence isn’t going to fix anything.

If you don’t like what someone has to say about the game, there is this awesome feature that enables you to scroll right by any comment that offends you.

I hope I can now finally make some mods. I’m not new to the modding world, but I really didn’t like the Sims 3’s way of modding. I hope I can upgrade from recolouring, creating clothing, building houses, etc. I have high hopes for this!

The original OP implied that by supporting mods EA was basically admitting that the game was incomplete/broken and that they were relying on modder’s to fix it. Which is obviously not the case and that is why everyone is so up in arms about it. We want mods to be supported and we have been asking for it for many years. There is NOTHING embarrassing about EA officially supporting mods in the game.

I think it’s much more likely that the negative comments are being “shouted down”, simply because fans of the game (who come to this site to read news and be excited about a game they love) are just sick and tired of reading the “opinions” of people who only complain. I mean seriously if you hate the game so much why visit these sites at all? I tend to read a lot on the forums and rarely comment but lately I can’t seem to help myself because people are being so RIDICULOUS that someone has to say something!

Hes not talking about people that just dont like EA, hell I dont like EA for the most part. He’s just refering to the people who hear good news and STILL find some was to turn it into bad news simply because EA was responsible for it.

No one said there were downsides.

If it were my game, I too would want to make it fun without mods. That doesn’t mean I wouldn’t support them. I would feel slightly inadequate for not being able to cover more bases, but nonetheless happy to see what other people can do with the game.
