i downloaded the game last night i played for a lil min then i got up this morning to play again offline and it keep sending me to origin…i dnt have internet so do that mean i cant play???

That’s true, and I know they will be moving towards purely digital purchases soon but it won’t be *too* soon. Maybe in a decade or two, but not within the next few years. It would alienate a decent chunk of possible consumers if they did it any sooner. They can at least wait until I can either afford to move/get decent internet. (The former seems more realistic.)

Although, I DO have Origin installed, I can’t use it, so it’s really worthless to me since I have dial-up. ($15 a year, baby, it’s worth it.) I tried to log in to see if I got the CAS demo yet and it says you need to be connected to the internet…I am on the internet, it’s just so slow Origin doesn’t even register it *as internet*, and I agree. 26 Kbps isn’t internet, it’s just sadness. Sour, bitter sadness. *weeps uncontrollably*

The Mac version will be done by a completely different Studio. Just like SimCity back in 2013. Send a bit of a ‘thank you’ over to Apple for making developing games for Mac such a pain.

Civ5 was the first game I bought that required Steam installation, and that was back in 2010. After Skyrim did the same in 2011 I stopped buying physical games, but from this point on I’d expect nearly all games to require digital installation. I understand there’s inconvenience involved–I play offline on a desktop. At least they’re not requiring online gameplay like they did with Sim City…
