Hmmm, sounds like an attempt to get more people to buy The Sims 4 to me!

They are suggesting that if we all though The Sims 4 was rubbish (which I do) and decided not to buy it (which I haven’t) then they would not bring out another version?! Poppycock!

If The SIms 4 flops (which is unlikely) then they would bring out a better one next time. Now that it is selling well, they will bring out an even more cut back and cheap and cheerful looking one next time.

It serves people right to be honest for not standing up to EA!

Ummm, no. Even if the game were to flop, there would still be a sims 5. This series is a huge money maker, they would figure out what went wrong and fix it in the next game. Its a business, thats how they work. Its not a fairy tale where if the princess dies the story ends, no, shes always revived.

Honestly I could care less for toddlers being in or out. With the new objectives for aspirations, jobs, and school you don’t have time to mess around with the necessity of making sure they know how to walk, talk and use the bathroom (so they age up well). I think they fit well with Sims 3 because you don’t have the responsibility of objectives really. Your sims just have less responsibilities so they have the time to care for toddlers. I miss swimming pools for sure but I’m hopeful that we’ll get them eventually, but Sims 4 is pretty solid. It has some kinks but every start up does. I feel like I enjoy this base game more than the Sims 3. Even though I love them both. 🙂 So I’m not really thinking about a Sims 5. I don’t like to think that the Sims are like iPhones for the world and we’re never satisfied so we just keep cranking them out. I’m more excited thinking about all the EP’s that will inevitably come and how the Sims 4 game will grow.

Folks, I have reason to believe SimGuruGrant had just committed a logical fallacy in that one single tweet, and therefore, we should not (and cannot) accept his reasoning. Specifically this:

Argumentum ad baculum (appeal to force);

..that is, the arguer in some way is using a threat (or in this case, indirectly promising a reward) to get the listener to agree with the conclusion.

SimGuruGrant’s argument is non-sequitur.
