I’ve been waiting for your review on this.. as you are one of the handful of sites that I believe in and trust.

I think I’m gonna buy it, but I am still going to wait a couple of months… see if they drop the price for Christmas… and wait for some community created Mods, and recolors (I am certain that the lack of CASt is going to be an aggravation that will take some time (and an abundance of recolors) to over come.

Honestly, toddlers and story progression were two of the msot important, let’s call them items. Many people claim EAMaxis will add these “items” in future expansions or patches, but an entire life stage is nearly impossible to add into an expansion/patch.When you think about it, your neighbours will die without kids or lovers unless you play with them yourself. This is a bit of a bummer considering maybe your Sims have a child but there are only the children that come in the town, so it get’s a bit repetitive if you want different friends for your Sims child. That probably didn’t make much sense, but I think I’m just venting now xD.
Teens and YA and Adults, like mentioned above, being the same height is quite annoying. I have a love/hate relationship with the closed world because I do in fact believe it reduces lag, but in the Sims 3 I just fell in love with being able to transfer from lot to lot without a loading screen. I didn’t care about the lag or the time it took for objects to load, I liked the ability to watch my Sims go places. Anyways, I love yet dislike the Sims 4, oh and don’t get me started on Build Mode, that is just incredibly amazing 😀 This article is grand, thanks for posting it xD

As someone who was on the fence, I love it. It has easily replaced sims 2 as a favorite because as many have said it is a strong starting point with great potential as a series whereas sims 3 met only pitfalls. I never said I wouldn’t get it I just didn’t plan on getting it at launch. My honey got it for me, he’s a convert to sims games. I love this game; the simplified ui, the clean load screen, the decor and furniture, the sims ai itself… and it finally feels like a simulation/architecture program again instead of a glorified story telling tool

I too am waiting to see how things develop with bug fixes and dlc. It appears that what is in there i s pretty innovative-animations have much more variety, and the ai’s complexity is definitely kicked up a notch.

But I still find the lack of variation in the life stages-yes, i’m talking about gutting the toddlers from the game and makeing teens virtually undistinquishable by sight from adults-still makes this a game I’m not willing to spend a premium price for.

Even if I do end up buying it, this just confirms my decision not to pre-order was sound. Glad so many folks are enjoying the game, though. It bodes well for the future.

That’s why I’m holding off on trying Sims 4. For one, I can’t support this game at launch because it’s deplorable so much was left out of the game. However, that doesn’t mean I’m not going to play and enjoy 4 at some point. I’ve kept up with the forums and all of that and I have found that the reception of what was released is very, very good. I love the details I’ve read and I’m sold that they’ve managed to capture that magic. Now for me personally it’s a waiting game until EA announces the EP that has the toddler life stage back. I plum refuse to switch to Sims 4 without toddlers. Not in 2014. Sorry. They can keep it until then. And a few other “base game” features while their at it.

I just can’t support that after being so loyal of a customer after all of these years. I feel shafted. 🙁

They’re going to utilize DLC no matter which way they offer it. I just hope they keep EP’s full of the gameplay and save the PC object type stuff for downloads. I don’t want countless limitations in store/DLC stuff like Sims 3 store had. Basically, hope they plan better.
