I will also be buying the guide for the Witcher 3 because I’m a HUGE witcher fan (read the books first)

I think in general (besides my sim guide experiences) I would only buy guides for games that I’m REALLY into and want to get all the information about it as I can. Pretty pictures and all, plus they usually go for $20 on ebay which is just a drop in the bucket in the scheme of things.

Explains the games basics, has a guide to careers, emotions, ect, ect. Seems okay to me and yes I hope they update it to.

As for their guides, I think it really depends ON the guide. Some are very bare bones, like the Dragon Age Inquisition which is basically just maps, on the other hand Skyrim had a really nice guide.

While COMPLETELY out of date the Diablo 3 guide was also very detailed, however thats the type of game that makes the guide useless on release date because its basically always in some form of meta build. However it IS a very nice guide.

As for the Sims 4 guide I reference it a lot…

I think they should wait a full year though before REALLY updating it because I expect the base game to get a few more updates in that time. Plus they could include dlc released over the next year.

(I have the book lol) What I meant was that although that “promise” was there, deep down they knew they wouldn’t do it. It’s a marketing tactic to sell the guide. Between SimsVIP and Carl’s, Prima will never be up to par like player guides are. They obviously don’t have an author, otherwise that would be their immediate project. 😛

They don’t even have an author who knows the game. Their guides have become low quality (for all games) since The Sims 2.

If it wasn’t for collection reasons I would have never bought it. I use online guides by players.
