But it’s roughly the same. Also if I remember correctly the Katy Perry thing was more expensive than an average stuff pack. :/

You know, if we would do that for Luxury Party, we’d end up with 132 items available. You’d think it doesn’t require that much common sense to notice stuff like that.
I had at least hoped you just trusted the wrong website, but no you actually made that mistake yourself. At least I hope it was a mistake, because if it was deliberate, then that’s just sad…

TS3 stuff packs always had around 60 items, I’m pretty sure of it! This stuff pack has 43 if I recall? So with TS3 stuff packs, you actually get 1.5x more items but for twice the price!

High End Loft came with 6 Build Objects, 39 Buy Objects, 15 clothing items and 5 hairstyles, so your 65 are right.
I never owned Fast Lane so I don’t have numbers for that but 70 is entirely possible.
Outdoor Living had 2 Build, 44 Buy and a couple of CAS items. I do not have the exact number of those but I am pretty sure those were not the 18 required to reach 64.
Town Life had 5 Build, 35 Buy and very few CAS items, so nowhere near your ridiculous 108 items. What it did have were pre-built venues which justifies the somewhat low item count between 40 and 50.
Master Suite was big but not as big as you claim. It had 5 Build, 24 Buy, about 40 clothes and 5 hairstyles, so a total of 74 items.
Sweet Treats had 10 Build, 47 Buy, 28 clothing and 5 hairstyles for a total of 90 items, although for a price of $10 more than usual.
Diesel came with 15 Buy and 42 clothing items for a total of 57 items.
70s, 80s, 90s came with 2 Build, 29 Buy, 29 clothing, 6 hairstyles, 5 Make-Up and 1 beard for a total of, as you stated, 72 items.
And Movie Stuff had by far less items than you state above. It came with 5 Build, 33 Buy, 40 clothing, 19 hairstyles and 1 beard for a total of only 98 items.

All of these numbers are counted by myself in-game and double-checked. Movie Stuff came closest to the value of Luxury Party, with 20ct per item over 15ct per item, but it still can’t beat it.

Now, yes, Sims 3 did have CASt. But that has nothing to do with the value of the Pack as it is sold. If we were going to consider CASt, we would also have to consider every single time a CC creator used the assets of a stuff pack to create something new. What isn’t done by the developers just can’t be used to calculate the value of what they deliver.

So to conclude this…
Sims 3 had on average:
3 Build items
31 Buy items
22 Clothing items
5 Hairstyles
Less than 1 Make-Up
66 Items total
For $20 that is an average of 30ct per item.

Luxury Party comes with:
No Build items
12 Buy items, 3 of which are gameplay objects
24 Clothing items
7 Hairstyles
9 Make-Up choices
52 Items total
For $10 that is 19ct per item, not even considering that 3 of those items would have been priced at $5 in Sims 3, because that would knock us down to 10ct per item.

So this pack lies perfectly within the average of a Sims 3 Stuff Pack, comes with 3 gameplay objects, 5 new recipes and several new songs for half the price you would pay for a Sims 3 Stuff Pack. Like it or not, but it is an undeniable fact that this pack has a better value than even the biggest Sims 3 Stuff Pack.
It’s ridiculous that people try so desperately to make this pack look bad that I, as someone who isn’t even that big of a fan of Luxury Party, has to put things straight!

Although that doesn’t really matter, whether it’s worth it or not depends on the person. Though some of the comments I’ve seen or in other reviews have just come off as whining to me. There is always a complaint about the number of items, TS4 only has it’s base, 1 EP, 1 GP, 1 SP, and the few things we’ve gotten for free. We have time to get so much more content.

First TS3 stuff pack had 3 objects with new gameplay.

As for items.

1. High end loft – 65 items

2. Fast lane – 70 items

3. Outdoor living – 64 items

4. Town life – 108 items

5. Master suite – 81 items

6. Katy Perry stuff – 97 items

7. Diesel stuff – 58 items

8. 70-80-90 stuff – 72 items + 3 new radio stations

9. Movie stuff -158 items + 3 new radio stations

Thing is, TS3 stuff packs did not count clothes and CAS items as objects. TS3 stuff packs had 40-60 objects ( usually ) + CAS items.

Also in TS3 with CASt, you can change color and texture of every item. So one dress can be thousands different dresses.

He’s a riot, and he’s pretty fair, I’d say. I ended up subscribing to his channels.
As for my own thoughts on the pack – well, I liked most of the hairs, but the outfits were only so-so. I didn’t like any of the men’s clothing options. The makeup was a bit … extreme in some cases, and of limited use, at least to me personally. While none of the new buy objects really jumped out at me as “must haves,” the buffet table and the new food/drink fountain are good additions. Overall, I am content with it, and I could easily justify the $9.99 price point to myself. I initially gave it a solid B, but I did not know about the new recipes that everyone is talking about, so that pushes it up to B-plus. More food options are always good, in my book.
