On the topic of cc heavy games, omg, you’re right. I look at some simmers games like “what is this? it looks like a 3D chat sim from the mid 2000s.” Then their pictures show off the world and the landscapes or cars fx or townies show up as Maxis matchy and it looks so off.

A lot of my cc is simply extracting meshes from the game itself like separating those candles from Movie Hangout Stuff to make them more versatile.

Maxis makes some really odd decisions with some of their work like never having 1 tile versions of things or having weird color choices. So i’m glad the cc community can fill in where maxis falls short.

I don’t, however, think that because CC creators exist that Maxis doesn’t have a place. They’ve got the manpower, the professional employees and the funding to create some incredibly beautiful content and we should totally be able wish for them to create varied and interesting content to their best ability.

exactly. and most people don’t havbe great systems that can run tons of CC I love CC and mods but it can really slow down y game and make it crash. The game shouldn’t have to rely on CC for alternate versions of things that should already be in there. the base game has 2 grand pianos and i want to know why one of those grand pianos couldn’t have been an upright instead? and the telescope thing is a good point. there should have been multiple telescopes you could buy just like the different cameras and theyre of varying prices and quality. i like the observatory but it is out of place in many builds.

One of my issues is people think because there is CC of something then there’s no need to ask for official content like it. Personally, I only use minimal CC and currently no mods because there always ends up being gameplay issues for me. Also like you said, a lot of CC isn’t maxis match and just looking on tumblr at some simmers who play CC heavy games and it looks like a completely different game with all that CC. I want all of my content to look like it belongs in the same world.

Me too. To me seasons, like toddlers, is a core aspect of the game that is necessary. And pets is a part of my family play as well, so if we get either of those next I definitely won’t be complaining.

Speaking of that grand piano makes me think about how ridiculous the telescope is in this game. It’s believable that a normal person could have a standing telescope (like in ts3), but not that observatory that we have in ts4! It’s also a huge eyesore on most lots I make.

i really hope so i really liked generations ep in the sims 3 and i really wish we could make our teens have more teen interactions as they are too grown up for my liking

With the Sims 4’s aesthetic the majority of cc creators can’t make maxis match content anymore and if they do it’s edits of existing maxis stuff. While that’s absolutely fine that shouldn’t limit the devs from creating their own products in different styles and from catering to different types of sim.

It’s like come on EA give us family play and toddlers so we can all be happy. After that it would be so much easier to enjoy the newer never seen before content in the sims. Like generations should have been released last year and GT this year. At least that’s I would have wanted. Hopefully they give us Generations this year though.
