It’s an adventure in itself just to get it to work on a recent graphics card let alone hit 30-60fps. If only it weren’t so, I’d go back to it in a heartbeat. :/

With Witcher my loadingscreens to start the game is 3-5 seconds and I have a solid 60fps (with vsync on) on ultra. The Sims 4 is poorly optimized.

Make like cinematics that they are busy to reach the destination instead of the blinding white screen of terror. Also creates more immersion. Like the decision to color in the maps of the world already looks so much better and more like a neighborhood instead of a blueprint if they did the same with loadingscreebs it would be awesome.

It was build to play it online even via phones so that s why the game is limited (look up Sims olympus). After they rejected the project, already too much resources went into the game so instead of starting from scratch they build on top of what they already had… Thus explains the many loadingscreens. Ofcourse gurus telling you that they made it this way for performance boost sounds much better than saying that they build on top of a online project that they eventually rejected but anyway used to make the Sims 4. If they never put that much time in an online concept there still would be an open world but better done than Sims 3.

First, Sims 3 is not available as 64 bit game so no matter how much ram your computer, Sims 3 will only use up to 4 GB.
Second, The original Sims, Sims 2 & Sims 4 will always have more sims in one lot than Sims 3 could ever have because of how thinly distributed the sims are to compensate its open world.
Lastly, you can tweak the settings and add mods to make Sims 3 run faster and less barren but by default it’s not going to be as lively like the other three iterations.

Now more and more persons who went back to Sims 3 realized they now have lots filled with sims simply because they have now a better computer. So go back playing on your potato.

Loading times will become a couple of minutes and it will become unbearable.
I have to add that even though the loading are very short for me (10-15 secs) I very rarely send my sims anywhere because constant interruption cut the flow and gets really really annoying. I’ld rather wait a couple of secs for the textures to load that seeing that horrible (and all white, ugh!) loading screens 🙁
