As I saw, those updates too near one from other, in fact, behind the improvement mask….. are nothing more than disable anti-drm methods found by hackers, be it for The Sims, any other game, or allow unlimited time for the 48-hours trial

It’s not like there’s an update every day, or even every month.

People tend to overeact. An update every other month or so isn’t too much.

I’ve never seen an Origin Update get so much attention. Usually people give it a little side eye and move on. 😛

It is important for people to know there is an update because if you happen to be logged in when an update goes live, you have a chance to properly save your game files before patching. Origin doesn’t let you enter the client unless you are updated, and some people have auto-updating enabled. It’s not as big of a deal as it used to be when it was the EA Download Manager, but people still want to know 🙂

Origin doesn’t list patch notes like game updates do. Their updates are very vague and don’t provide much info. I’ve gone ahead and added what Origin says the update includes to the post.

If Origin doesn’t release patch notes themselves I suspect it’s just because SimsVIP doesn’t know what the patch actually did. I do kinda wonder why they bother telling us about Origin updates at all tbh.

I never said I was happy with it. It literally has no impact for me. I go to play and think “oh. An origin update. Ok.” And don’t give it another thought afterwards. I’d rather them update it and fix bugs and issues then let it continue to be a problem. I guess I can understand the bad computer thing though.

I am just as annoyed at these updates to @khristiaan maybe even more so I got a old computer lol
