EA/Maxis has consciously chosen to not treat the Sims 4 game like they treat their other games because they truly have no “real” competition in the genre. If they had competition like they do for their FPS & Sport platforms they wouldn’t be able to put a product out that was incomplete/broken in the first place. Just look at their GTW expac & you will understand what I am talking about.

Also, in regard to me complaining about how long it takes for them to release new content…..perhaps you should see that Sims 3 had 35 installments in 4 years compared to Sims 4 who has been out for 4 years with only 22 installments all with less content for more.

So you think EA/Maxis puts out their content for Sims 4 quickly? Compared to their past renditions of Sims 3 they had twice as much content out in less time. Sure it had issues, but so does Sims 4. That being said, they are putting out less & less content for more money. Most of the content they are putting out is incomplete or broken. In particular their GTW expac was first released March 2015 & it never worked! It still doesn’t work. Try being a detective or a doctor. That is just one of the ongoing issues. So you are lecturing me on being patient. If the products actually worked, I would have nothing to complain about.

As far as content, Sims 3 was out for 4 years & in that time they released a total of 35 packs (mixed) but that took only 4 years. We have had a total of 22 total items for Sims 4 & we are near the 4 year timeline that Sims 3 had. All of which have less & less content in it for the price. Even the original game Sims 4 was without base game items that were then introduced later like pools, toddlers & laundry.

When I agreed to try out Sims 4 it was after reading so many rave reviews about Sims 3 & the color wheel, terrain & foundation tools. I was completely bamboozled. They took a game that had the potential of topping every past game they put out & introduced a skeleton. So you can ride your “fanboi” wave along with Missy Jenn Massey who thinks that somehow patches to the game are free content. As long as I am a paying customer I have every single right to expect better! I would think that as a customer yourself you would expect to purchase a well rounded finished product.

P.S.- EA only has competition for their FPS & Sport titles. The sheer amount of FPS games in the industry is huge which provides gamers with many choices which makes companies compete. The only other game that is anything like the Sims series is Second Life. Most of the others are browser based games. So no, there is no real competition in this particular genre & it shows.
