I used to frequent MTS and TSR during the early days (TS1 perhaps, even, but definitely TS2 and some of TS3). TS3 era towards the end I definitely was on Tumblr and S4S for the majority of my CC (I also loved ASR). Didn’t do too much modding in TS3 compared to 1 and 2 but I feel 3 did have a lot of fixes for sims and cars clogging up the world. 4 I would be more interested in mods than CC as the gameplay is rather boring to me compared to the other iterations, and I’ve seen lots of mods that add those missing elements to the game.

I think CC is pretty great in Sims 4 for variety, but then I don’t have all of the expansions/packs yet so my load time isn’t abysmal. And of course the CC gets broken occasionally with the updates, which is annoying, but overall don’t seem to get messed up as much as TS3 did. That may just be my memory though… I haven’t played 3 in a long while, though I had almost all of the expansions for it.

I’d say giving CC a cautious try would be fine for TS4 although I do believe there could still be problems for Mac; inevitably things end up a little different and something causes problems across the platforms, though I’m not sure why. But there’s so much CC that there has to be a few perfect things out there. It’ll be harder finding what you’re looking for maybe. Other than the people still on Mod and Resource, or who’ve had domains forever, modders have decentralized and mostly turned up on Tumblr it seems. Pinterest and CC-Find blogs, plus Google, works pretty well though and of course anyone you like will probably have links to other modders you might like too. 🙂

I’d also recommend getting Sims4 Studio for batch-fixes. But if you’d rather stay CC-free, I don’t really blame you. Sometimes it feels like a hassal and being on a Mac might compound that.

That’s true! I’ve personally just always had a slight distaste with EA’s fashion choices from the beginning… and that’s why I always went CC crazy because content creators seem to be more up to date on current design trends for CAS as well as interior design. I’ve skipped out on it this round thanks to the bad taste TS3 left in my mouth (TS3 was my favorite gameplay wise, but an impossible game to play with add ons/CC for Mac users) so I’ll just have to pick and choose as I can. I wish they gave us more plain options over the patterned ones.

Well, I admittedly liked some of the other options in the voting and having seen some of the clothes in game (youtube preview by Deligracy), most aren’t so bad (some of the patterns are definitely eh, but I liked a few of the shirts that did win.) That dress was always kinda meh, I think it works better on paper than in 3D, and I never thought it was the best full-outfit choice, although the flower print helped. I dunno. I’m sure it won for variety sake. Plus I could see some simple custom-edits making it much better (though I don’t know how exactly… I just feel as if it’s small things that bother me but I can’t determine what.) Haha I’m sure there’s always something we wonder why about and maybe that helps… I’m sure one person’s “why?” is another person’s “yes!” but there is enough here to appeal to me anyway. 🙂

Yeah I’m not too pleased with the clothing options they went with for this pack, but then again, a lot of the clothes they release with new content, I find myself scratching my head as to “why.”

Same! But hey, maybe the upcoming Adventure-inspired Expansion will have some beaches to enjoy? Since they’ve shown us so little, I don’t see why not.
