It would be nice if you stopped talking down to others about things.
Being nicer, or just ignoring comments you don’t like isn’t that hard.

You do NOT speak for everyone, and your “facts” aren’t always as you claim. Also, knowing people in the industry doesn’t make you any wiser/more
correct”, than the rest of us..
People can understand what they read for themselves, and don’t need your constant, presumed, “corrections” or insults.

I’m with Awesomemarc on this, don’t make assumptions about me or my knowledge. Thanks. I know what the article is about. I read before commenting. My statement was more meant as a general one in regards to TS4 as a whole. A lot of people just seem to refuse to believe that this game could genuinely be liked or do well. Also, not even close to all TS4 players are ‘series veterans’ who have played any or all of the previous installments that they can compare this latest installment to.

Kindly refrain from lecturing me about what I know and don’t know, or recklessly make a bunch of assumptions about my abilities or knowledge of the gaming industry. Consider taking a long look in a mirror the next time you feel the desire to label someone you don’t know as “cocky” because you are the very definition of the word.

Now the receipts… it was reported on this site in June 2016 that the game was the best selling game of 2014 and 2015, and to date had sold 5 million copies, putting it on track to do as well or better than TS3. I certainly have no idea how EA defines success for TS4, but those numbers sound very solid, at least to me.

Lol, people need to learn to read. This actually makes EA look worse. They are just saying that the sims 4 EXPANSION for that quarter sold well (not a surprised for one of the most sought after expansions) and it was during a relatively slow quarter from EA and one filled with a TON of controversy. EA’s silence on figures speaks louder than anything. With Sims 1, 2, and 3 they bragged all over PC mag about how they were the best selling PC games of all time, of the year, etc…..Where have you seen that for sims 4? No, instead they are bragging about 1 expansion (when we only get 1 a year anyway) doing well in ONE tiny quarter out of 4 years when EA had a very slow quarter that particular quarter with a ton of controversy. Oh and of course it was the best selling expansion in that quarter….there were no other expansions for ANY other game lol.

Lots of games sell well commercially and go on to be disasters……Also, you clearly don’t know what the article was about. It placed 3rd in just the 3rd quarter of this year. It was also only for “The Sims 4 “delivered the highest performing expansion pack to date during the quarter” as quoted in the article. So I am going to explain to you how game development works as I actually have a husband and a brother in the industry. This just means the game sold well between CONSOLE and PC in that particular quarter, this is not overall earnings. Lots of things can go into that factor, 1 is if there was an expansion released at that time (which there was and is literally what the article was saying, it didn’t say the sims 4 did well, it said it had the highest performing expansion which is no surprise since Pets is the most sought after expansion in the franchise and no other games were releasing expansions lol) and B…..the console version was released at that time. The BIGGEST factor to that figure is whether or not EA released anything interesting during that time frame. The answer was “yes” and “no”….the things they released during that time that were worth anything were Battlefront and Need for Speed, both of which scored next to Sims 4 lol. Basically it got rated well for that ONE quarter because nothing else new from EA was out and the things that were sold just as well if not better. It also got rated better that quarter due to the release of the Console version and one of the most anticipated Expansions to date.

So, these figures aren’t great. It literally means that in almost 4 years the sims has only sold well (they would have bragged about it otherwise) this one quarter in 4 years lol and during a relatively slow few months for EA……next time before you guys get cocky please research what these things mean……

Awesomemarc, totally agreed, honestly, I read this one of yours and didn’t find any “rude tone” or anything that sounds offensive, sorry Truth… but this comment of your post is completely unecessary, I mean, who in the world get time to do such a comment of a comment. And HONESTLY, I’ll use this space to say HOW MUCH I’m tired of this “politely/politically correct/right”, I mean, they say that ditactors, tyrants are bad things because we cannot express our felling, thoughts but this politely/polically right is doing the same thing. We all need to think thrice to express ourselves, to carefully use our words because our trully and honestly opinions may be criticized. Look, I’m not saying that we have the right to offend or express any prejudice of anykind, but sometimes, and now more than always, I feel that people are constantly mistaking and twisting our truth words with those things. Sorry, I just thought it necessary, because I’m really tired of all this criticizing/critizement thing I see everywhere – especially in Tumblr – seems that everything became a reason to get offended to, especially the truth. Have people forgot the words “the truth can be hard/harsh, but better the truth about all”? Our society is becaming so hypocrite.
