As someone with as much melanin as myself (dark chocolate to be exact) i feel truly under represented. yes they tried to compensate for their lack in diverse skin color but as a company that I pay good money to for their content. What they gave me ultimately was unacceptable in quality. I feel like both parties need to see each others point of view and truly understand. Consumers, who pays you to make content doesn’t want to be told that in order for a producer to correct or make up for something their product was lacking, the consumer must then put in the work to find a solution for the producer. THAT is the producers job. Now if the producer wants to outsource the problem to the consumers to help identify a solution, then say “hey, we are trying our best, but cannot find resources that we think would best represent POC and would like your help” i’m sure people would be happy to. BUT when everyone’s emotions are on a hundred and you throw blame onto your consumer and then tell them to provide resources if they are so unhappy, they are going to get pissed and you are going to get rude comments. It is what it is. You seem to understand EA’s stand point which is great, so I hope this helped to see the opposing side’s view too.

Why should we have to do that?! That’s the point and you’re missing it. But I’m sure if they have more POC working for them his wouldn’t be an issue…. we shouldn’t HAVE to create CC.

Wait I thought it was coloured people…oh wait that’s the ‘offensive’ one.
BTW white people aren’t greatly represented either. My exact skin tone isn’t in the game either. Should I scream at these obvious racists and demand that they stuff the game full of every skin colour imaginable?
It’s funny that they could have avoided all this drama if they didn’t regress the series to the sims 2 and if they didn’t listen to SJW’s

Well, I mean I understand why darker skinned people are rightfully upset. They are the majority of people on the planet and the majority of gamers world wide and yet they are constantly an afterthought.

I completely understand that frustration, fantasy rpgs games are the same with dark skinned people and with women/girls. It’s damn hard to find a decent rpg without gender lock or the default ‘bearded white dude’ these days; unless we go to a bethesda or bioware game.

yeah im fine with the lightest skin tone too, but sometimes it can look kinda yellow if ur sim got platinum blonde hair, the second lightest shade looks ok with black hair but its a disaster with blond hair, too much yellowness going on so i just stick with tan skin tones since they match with *almost* all hair colors
