I tried everything: I changed my region in Origin, used VPN, renamed my Sims 4 folder under Documents to create a new one, even changed the games’ language to english, but still no icon for me.

I’ve run out of ideas what else to try. 🙁

The regional settings can be changed freely through the Origin menu: ‘Origin’ -> ‘EA Account and Billing…’
I adjust it years ago for more language options during game installation. Perhaps a ‘Repair’ or a complete re-installation of The Sims 4 is required to effectively change the installed game files after changing the region.
