I lived in the desert for a good chunk of my life and it doesn’t snow.

Not only will it not snow in those worlds, there are ways to change the weather. People tend to jump to conclusions when all the information is not out. All power to you if you don’t like it when all is said and done but so far a lot of these issues have been only lightly discussed. I almost prefer the way this is set up to previous iterations.
There are things I’m not thrilled about but I just hope people don’t give up on it because of preconceived perceptions, I guess…

I would like another vacation GP or two. At least they can go camping in the summer. Hmm…can they go camping in the winter? Will there be weather in the two current vacation areas?

One would think EA would support the Sims team more if it was the cash cow they claim it is.

It might not bother me if the snow doesn’t have any depth/build-up if the rest of the winter aesthetics is immersive enough. Then again we already knew the S4 team has an issue with object depth (see also, the flat pet beds).

Same goes to the other omissions; time will tell if I miss them but for now, I think this EP might have loads more gameplay than the others so far. With some exceptions…

– Beaches: I wanna be fine about no beaches (after all, TS2 Seasons didn’t have any beaches either and it ended up being one of my favorite TS2 EPs) but I’m really wondering what’s in store for Summer if swimming in the ocean and lounging on the beach aren’t in store. Kiddie pool and sprinklers are included, we already know that; what else? Sunburn? (I think we got those only with the Bon Voyage EP in TS2) Sunstroke (new death)? Picnics (guess you can have those all year round)? Summer is my favorite season in real life but in The Sims it is pretty much indistinguishable from no weather, so I want some really good content to round it out!

– No new world: I’m a bit disappointed that we don’t get a new world because I’m seriously running out of space in my main save…

I was kind of hoping for a new hood and more space for my Sims. I can always start a new one but spreading out my Sims over different saves is not as much fun.

I remember reading about the New Orleans basis somewhere and being happy yet surprised since like you said, Sunset Valley isn’t very New Orleanian lol. I think some of the developers really like New Orleans (and I can’t blame them!) since they seem to use that model even in TS4!

For the record, I never played in Sunset Valley (didn’t like it for some reason) so I can’t remember a lot of individual lots. But that’s really cool.
