If they truly have only used Sims 4 objects then there is an interesting item on the list; a burglar alarm.

I wouldn’t have the drive to replace all the houses in the neighbourhood but a few nice ones for my own sims to live in would be nice. I like to build occasionally but it takes so much time!

Yes “Simday1” I had a ton of random NOLA homes, but No one was checking for me, I cleaned up my gallery. I’ll start uploading some. I have my Legacy home on there to start with.

Except the area you live in matters greatly (the highly populated areas as someone earlier mentioned) and the quality of the housing market too which you can’t necessarily account for in Sims because it’s just a game in and in real life the housing market is always fluctuating. Back in the early 2000’s when the housing market was “good” (before it came tumbling down on everyone) you could buy a 5 bedroom home with a fairly large yard for $250,000 (as my dad did) and now it’s worth 2.5 times that only because of how the market has changed.

But I definitely agree with you that, in accurate terms as how the market is today, the Goth’s house is worth way more than $250,000

I am not sure that Oakenstead would reach a million dollars in my area, unless it was within city limits or some of our more exclusive neighborhoods. But I definitely could see it being between $800-$900 thousand. Conversely, Crick Cabana would probably cost about $40-$50 thousand, unfurnished. When playing around with some of the other properties, they all seem to come to close to being about 3.5 to 4 times more than they cost in sims 4, when unfurnished.

Lots – JUST LOTS – are going for $200,000 near where I live, for a single acre. And it’s a rural area. There are 6-7 homes in the whole county under $300,000 right now. To get something new-ish with average quality materials, with 3-4 bedrooms here is ~$450k-499k. And those are on lots packed so tight that you can hear your neighbor(s) talking when you’re each inside your respective homes.

It’s even worse in more populated places & cities, especially California.

I’m saying that whoever did this doesn’t live on Earth or has poor math skills. They have essentially said you can buy a house, with furnishings for less than the price of a new lower end car. The money system of course cannot be converted in an sensible way, especially if you look at the cost of drinks or food items or tips given compared to buying a house. But on their own they could make sense. Once you factor in real estate it starts to fall down massively.

If you wanted to buy even the most run down home you could find here in the game in any real world market you’d be looking at so much more money. What I’m comparing here is the fact that I bought a real world townhouse with a far smaller footprint, no yard etc. for about the same price they are saying the Goth house would sell for. Sign me up for that please. However, in my market I have a small home, no bells and whistles that didn’t come after purchase. If I wanted a Victorian style home like the Goths have, real world price is more like between 1 and 2 million if it’s in a livable condition already.

The conversion for market cost is off. Like I said, they money system doesn’t make sense and isn’t supposed to, but if they were going to give this a real attempt at a conversion, their exchange rate should have been worked on more for a more realistic look at what houses would cost in this area. And even then, it’s likely it wouldn’t work across all the neighborhoods anyway.
