The world that came with Sims 3 Pets was basically unplayable until I got a mod that fixed the broken areas of the map. I loved Sims 3 but it needed mods too.

What about poses? Will they be broken? I’m assuming they are script mods, but I’m not sure.

The basic problem is that there is no reliable way to decompile python 3.7.0 as I understand it, and EA refuses to provide modders with decompiled source code which they need to remake most mods. If they can’t decompile it reliably, there won’t be any new mods any time soon. Not to mention many modders are talking giving up altogether because of this.

I completely agree. The game is a complete mess without mods. I think I can easily say that
its the modding community that has kept The Sims franchise alive all
these years. If not for them, there may never have been a Sims 3 much less a Sims 4.

As I had read from Pyton about PYC files, The Sims 4 will be faster to load newer script mods

It just means to go back to an older version of the game, basically. Origin does not have an option to do this, but you can do it manually by backing up both ‘The Sims 4’ folders from the ‘Origin Games’ and ‘Electronic Arts’ folders before you update the game.

That way, if EA introduces another bug that messes up the game–like the time that they deleted all relationships– or if your favorite mods break and you want to keep playing with them as they get updated, you can just set Origin to ‘Offline Mod’, delete the new folders downloaded when you updated the game, and replace them with the folders you backed up previously.

Does that make sense?

Yes, when you put your files back, that includes your old saves from before updating. Just delete the new folder (or move it somewhere else) and put in the old folder there instead along with the old saves. You also can’t load lots created after your current update even by putting in the tray files, though using the tray files to install older lots works fine.
