It sounds more like all sims will have a public image bar tracker thing. It will probably be similar to the parenthood system and vampire system. Auditioning will just raise your fame bar, not trigger it. They have also made it clear you can get fame for more than just acting and singing. You can become a famous author, bowler or athlete. I’m hopeful you can become a famous scientist because that’s a story I’ve been wanting to play out.

Would love to be a fashion influencer in the game. Sometimes the NPCs have the worst outfit combos. Also I’m excited about the entrourage. Overall I feel like this pack will add a lot of new storytelling capabilities.

My guess is if you go or try to live in the new world, or ‘try’ to audition or something that’s what’ll trigger the fame. Long as your sims live their lives outside the view of rolling cameras etc. You might be good.

Of course if that is true you’d be buying a game and not use like 90% of it’s features. Unless it’s a note to keep some of your house holds that you want to keep unfamous.

While usually a completionist, TS4 has managed to introduce enough packs that just don’t interest me that it’s not triggering my completionism. This is the first EP in that category, but… :/

I’m not going to say hard pass, because the completionist idiot in me is alive and well, but I’ve never really loved the fame packs, but I like the careers.
I think fame is handled in a weird way. :/ I also hate how they would ding us for having been seen with a supernatural, when that’s their spouse; sims don’t react to supernaturals negatively, they don’t react at all, unless they were maybe transforming in front of them, as a werewolf, otherwise, nothing! Their biases were on a moral code the game didn’t support. After that, I was concerned for my same-sex couples.
They would also report on events they weren’t even at, making their presence more pointless. In the end, the paparazzi was mostly just annoying and cause laggy lots.

Nah, wouldn’t be that weird. Just have the code for how they function be in the base game code and then the objects that use that code in their respective packs, so you’d still need either pack to actually use them. People who have Fitness Stuff can use the earbuds, people who have Get Famous can use the headphones, people who have both can use both.
