I know what you mean. Today there is the internet and social media, which make it super easy for anyone to put themselves out there. That isn’t a bad thing, mind you. People like being entertained, and singing and acting are not the only forms of entertainment out there, especially in todays’s world. I wouldn’t exactly call Ariel famous, though; more like… widely known? Either way, I don’t mind her being in the game.

You’re right. It’s true that there are very few “role models” out there. But this girl is somewhat low on the role model scale if you ask me. Unfitting for a game catering to teens and up. All I’m saying is they could have done better. I’m sure there are famous people out there who are mainly doing what they love, and not promoting degeneracy. People who know that fame comes with responsibility. Or maybe I’m just gullible, who knows anymore.

As for the dumbing down part, you misunderstood. By dumbing down I meant their “star” choice. Not the fact that the Sims series is satire of real life, which is true I guess. But it always had sort of a lighter tone. (Death is practically a silly halloween looking creature, sex being called “woohoo”, no blood is shown etc.)

As for why I care about this; The Sims is a game that holds a lot of nostalgia and good memories for me. Seeing it go down the drain because of bad choices is disappointing. This was just kind of…the cherry on top I guess. I feel that they don’t care as much about quality as they used to.

Besides, I looked up her videos and the songs/videos used are vain, money-focused, cringeworthy and some even degrading and inappropriate. – You have described 99% of the show business, so there would have been literally zero difference from -keh- “moral” standpoint if they chose anyone else. None of the celebrities are any sort of role model material and if you/your kinds view them as such, may God help you.

It’s dumbing the series down a bit. – The Sims series was/is/will be satire at real life. The franchise always revolved around Pop-culture and Pop-culture is an endless hole filled with garbage. So if looking from that perspective, there is nothing to dumb down to begin with.
