That games problem was it was 32 bit and should have been 64 bit. It was obvious when it had so many error 12 crashes. I was able to eliminate having crashes by having more ram and adding a bigger page file – but many people did not know to do this so they crashed a lot simply because the game could not utilize more of your ram.

The performance reasoning for the number of lots doesn’t even make sense (as you and other replies covered it, I won’t get into that) and it is just an excuse.

I was just saying that I felt the opposite and that it was my favorite. You’re correct though, Sims 2 was great for family play and Sims 3 was rather lacking. I am not much of a family player, and tend to stick to young adult single households, but I still do miss the sim to sim interactions (namely between kids and parents) that have been removed in Sims 4. I think 2 was probably the most detailed when it came to the little things, but I just personally preferred the trait system over the point system for sim personality (and I just LOVE open world games lol).

I played it for years, and still occasionally fire it up now and then. I just meant to say that I, personally, didn’t like the family-play much (compared to Sims 2), because there were not that many socials you could do with toddlers or between the children themselves, and trying to get them all to sit at the table at the same time was an absolute headache. Stuff like that was annoying, especially when compared to Sims 2 where there was a ton of stuff the kids could do together, and Sims of different ages could interact more (with nursery rhymes and the coloring table, etc). However, I agree with you about the traits in TS3: they could be really fun. Lord, how I miss “Inappropriate,” and how ridiculously those sims would sometimes dress, and behave. I also liked “Absent-minded” where the sims would often forget what they were doing when you’d queued up some options for them or they were out collecting. Always good for a laugh. Even the more serious traits had some fun animations that went with them, like Sims with the evil trait being able to steal candy from a toddler. There are definitely not enough negative/ funny traits in TS4.

But if 5 is extremely underfunded, then yeah, it might not matter what they start with.

While I would get bored here and there in 3 during “dry” periods (no new content), it’s my favorite of the series, and I’ve been playing since the beginning. In 4 I spend the majority of my time making households, making my worlds as custom as possible, scouring the gallery, and searching the internet for mods/CC. The gameplay couldn’t hold my attention past the first month or two I played, and even though I keep buying content (minus MFPS), it doesn’t seem to fix the fact that the gameplay can’t entertain for the long term. I haven’t even touched my game in months. In fact, I don’t think the interactions in 4 are as good as in 3, namely due to A the sims having flat personalities (traits don’t seem to do much in 4 like they did in 3) and B that the interactions where sims touch are few and far between. I miss being able to dance with another sim, or have kids play fetch with their parents, or tag with one another like in 2 & 3. I liked the trait system in 3 better than the personality system in 2, but sims in 2 did still have a lot of gumption and beautiful animations like you said. I miss the little details animation-wise like making your own bed.

Like I said, there’s NO EXCUSE. None.

That is the worst solution they could muster. No instead of fixing the problem by doing better – they choose to stop doing that kind of pack? Reminds me of how kindergärtners think. Don’t be surprised they decide to stop empty lots altogether instead of fixing the issue as a mature thinking person would. No they take their toys and go home – sticking their tongues out at us as they leave knowing full well we can’t add lots ourselves.

Admittedly though, I’m really happy with what we’ve seen of Del Sol Valley (despite the ridiculous name) because it reminds me more of where I live than any other world I’ve seen in the Sims series. It could be bigger, but I like the design, and the world isn’t really my priority with this pack.
