I’m not a builder, especially with landscapes (I’m more interested in the interior decorating aspect when it comes to “building” in sims games) so I don’t care for the large lots. I like my game to look true to life, and I’ve found my favorite builds tend to be on smaller lots with lots of clutter. Those big lots just don’t seem believable outside of a few circumstances (like a shopping complex, hotel, townhouse complex or mansion) so I find myself struggling to fill the space. I HATE wide open spaces lol but this is probably the city girl in me talking.

I love big lots because they give me more freedom about what to put in the yard. You don’t have to build a large house, you can just have a large garden or a tree house and a gazebo… there’s so much you can do. Especially with the terrain tools. The tiny 20×15 lots bother me because you can’t do anything useful with them.

Same! My sims game runs rather smoothly but when I have to go to a giant lot with lots of sims my game lags like CRAZY. Those big lots just aren’t very playable to me, imo.

I dislike big lots as well. I’m probably the minority. It’s a hassle to play in a huge house in a lot bigger than 50×40. The sims take so long to get to the other side. :/

…but the lots are so big and there’s so few of them! Too bad since I’ve wanted a California inspired world for a while. I really hope they release another newcrest type world at some point. I don’t need set dressing… I need lots… that aren’t stupid big… okay in the pinnacles that’s fine since they’re rich famous blah blah they need property whatever, but in a starter neighborhood? Like what’s my poor sim needing a 50×40 lot for?

it made both packs stronger and made them all fit together more neatly. I don’t think it’s punishing players who don’t get both just because they miss out on something that connects to a thing they already don’t want .

Yep that was true even far back with the sims 2. Also liked in older games, a lot of packs had good overlap with other features in another pack or give a couple new features only if you had particular other pack like if you had pets and apartment life in sims 2 your witch sims could summon exclusive cats or something. Even if some one isn’t a fan of that particular thing the notion of connecting other packs in some way was nice to stumble upon.

i remember watching the livestreams for the sims 3 eps and still finding tons of little wrinkles and hidden features, new items, gameplay interactions and systems that they just couldn’t get to but by the time a sim 4 dlc comes out 99% of it has been covered in detail.

That sounds like very useful information if you didn’t watch any video from Sims Camp… which is not my case.
