I’m a 31 year-old woman who has barely any time to play the Sims, let alone interact with the community. When I do get downtime and can catch up, I’m always 1) disappointed by how the LOUD MINORITY of the fans behave, and 2) feel like because this is who the gurus respond to, that I no longer belong to this community. And that has killed my interest in pretty much anything.

Today was the first day in months I logged into SimsVIP for news because it has been such a crap-show for so long that it’s killed my interest in the game. This is the first thing I see, and yep…I’ll be leaving again. It’s a damn shame.

I’m fine with it, hopefully they will take some of the feedback from the community and put it to good use 🙂

I wanted to let you know because this goes along with what I’m trying to tell them. I’m very sorry if you didn’t want that but again I didn’t use your name.

It’s inevitable to think that we can. Also, your example, “you’re all so stupid” is an opinion and not an attack. The phrase, “I can’t wait for you all to get fired”, is also not an attack but simply an assumption of what a person hopes will be an outcome of another. Both examples are negative responses, yes, but neither of them pose a threat. However, that is just my opinion as is, your comment. To make a threat is actually, making a comment and seeing to it by taking action or making statements that is later retaliated. People are cruel. The world is cruel and the world has made people cruel. I in no way condone or can control anyone’s words or actions but my own. I, however, will never accept being talked to in a general statement in a condescending tone from anybody. The way, in my opinion, how Kate held her position was from a level of trying to have some sort of authority over the community, was wrong. The way she handled herself, she went about the wrong way and that is just my thought on it. If that is how they prefer to talk to the community as a whole then I rather them not talk to us at all. It’s not like they do anyway when comments, regarding glitches and anything of the sort are concerned. Oh, well they do respond to certain people, however. Let me not forget about that.

I see people complain about how ts3’s sims were all dough like but yet mostly everyone use skin details on them the same way they use skin details on every sim from every era. I enjoy the sims bcus I enjoy my sims. I enjoy how I play and what I get out of how I play. That may not be the same for everyone else. Open world and having a color wheel are key elements that will always set ts3 a part from 4. Even if we could just have an open world in each designated neighborhood where the sims are so you don’t have to keep having a loading screen when visiting your neighbors, that’d be great but we’re not talking about the things that’s missing or what engine is better. We all know the pro’s and cons. TS3 is great in ways that TS4 isn’t and vice versa. The problem for me is the glitches and the things that are constantly broken and not being fixed in the game. It’s annoying to have to keep putting up w/sh** like that every time.

You don’t need to work for a company to feel bad for the way “fans” start badmouthing the employees. Seriously, if people would talk like that to cashiers or waiters they’d be just thrown out of the store. I mean, seriously, WHY do people have to get THIS personal when criticizing a GAME. If one doesn’t like Sims 4, they could just not buy it. People could just go back to Sims 2 or 3 or whatever tickles their fancy and stop being incredibly childish and rude about it on a personal level.

Saying “I prefer how apartments worked in 2” is far more constructive than telling the devs they suck or that they should quit their job (or even worse, that they should die) – and I’m not implying YOU personally said things like that, but there are people doing exactly that and getting threats over your day job seems extremely unfair and inappropriate to me!? Especially considering that most of us probably are way over the acceptable teenage sulking age….

I’ve enjoyed it heaps more than the broken mess Sims 3 was, which would crash every twenty minutes without some serious modding and editing internal game files. Sure, it had TONS of broken content which made it a bloated mess.

On the other hand I’ve got 522 hours play time on Sims 4 and it doesn’t feel empty or broken at all to me. It’s not only fun but also stable, with the best UI update the series has ever seen and tons of Build Mode features the series had needed for years! Seeing how well the game is selling it seems I’m not the only one enjoying it.

Guess not everyone agrees the game is the problem? Sadly wherever there’s a fandom, there’s always a very vocal minority dead set on spreading their toxic fumes everywhere. It’s a pity, really. 🙁

It has ALWAYS been a game aimed at all ages, why should they suddenly stop? Why is it suddenly a negative thing even though nobody was bothered by it with 3, 2 or the original game? With Sims 4 you get the feeling that whatever they do, it’s wrong in the “fan’s” eyes. Try something new? Wrong! Stick to the old ways? WRONG AGAIN!

I really do hope they’ll save their own sanity and go back to just not talking to the community at all. Nobody ever said developers need to engage with the community in the job description (usually it’s in your contract as a video game dev that you MUST NOT interact with the community at all, because personal dev opinion != company’s opinion).
