In our family, we had stubbornly continued to play Sims 1 well into Sims 2, but when it came out, my daughter wanted to try Life Stories. When we did, we never looked back. We bought all the TS2 packs (most on sale) and had a blast with the main game. Later even though we now had TS2, we played Pet Stories and Castaway as well, and particularly loved Castaway. There were so many different secret areas and mini-quests etc that it was extraordinarily replayable (and fun!). So I continued to miss a lot of the nice content and objects and even some of the gameplay from the Stories packs even when playing the regular game. So now, I much prefer having an optional storyline incorporated into the game instead of a separate pack. (In fact, it would be great if they would do a Castaway-like Game pack and have it be a part of the main game with your sims perhaps getting rescued at the end or whatever, or else having the option to continue living in the Tropical Paradise). .

I particularly enjoyed it when the purple plant tendrils started to curl up out of the pipes into all the sinks, and my sims would give this startled gasp and receive the “Botanophobia” moodlet. With nearly everyone in the town possessed, everything started to feel quite dire.

It was basically Sims-lite to work on laptops of the time that had way lower specs. This add-on pack reminds me of that! You had to play through the steps of the story and then got sandbox mode at the end.

Cast Aside All of that Awkwardness, the Trailer Feels like a Mash of Survival Horror Gamelay Aspects – it gave the Vibes of either the Resident Evil Series or that of Half-Life’s, & then gets Mixed-In with a Random Radio Infomercial Parody of “Musty Pines” from the GTA Games. Despite that, I Hope the Pack Delivers with the said Perils of the MYSTERY it Promotes. If Not, I bet you that I would just Recreate Death Scenes of my Sims in here Based on what Dangers I’ve Seen from the Other Game Inspirations I’ve mentioned for the FUN of Unwisely Buying it now.

Somehow, my sim foolishly managed to die twice during the quest (luckily I had saved just before each death) so it actually felt a bit perilous at times as well. I really hope that they make a few more game packs like it because I had a blas with the story, and I expect I will continue to enjoy the neighborhood even after it’s been cured..

I expected the giant mother plant since the first trailer with them looking up, but actually seeing it is a different thing. I wish the quest was a bit longer though, and it did bug out a bit during the last fight.

Widenburgh trailer anyone? The voice actor did a really good job and it suited the sim well and set the tone.

Honestly wouldn’t be surprised if some sims were bi-lingual.

Thought it was going to be that usual female narrator with that chipper walkthrough in the video and boy was I wrong.

Been playing this pack for awhile and I really enjoy it.
