I didn’t expect The Sims 4 to turned out they way it turned out: a sterile, goal-oriented, shallow experience. The only saving grace TS4 has is that it runs better than 3 (though Simulation Lag exists) and CAS/Build mode are fun and easier to use.

If StrangerVille, a linear adventure pack, is the direction they want to take the series moving forward, we’ll have to declare The Sims franchise officially dead.

For it’s tons of faults that game was transformative for a genre that no one really even attempts. It can be hard to appreciate the sims 4 the same way.

I think the chain starts with Business Abroad in Al SimHara.

The story is very subtle, as the focus is on exploring most tombs in Egypt, but it has two branching paths (you can align yourself to the Resistance or MorcuCorp) depending on the opportunities you accept. If you read all the text and talk to all the people involve, you start to piece together what’s really happening with MorcuCorp in Egypt. You truly feel like a mix of James Bond and Indiana Jones while doing that quest chain.
