It’s been two decades, and we’re still using the same clunky, stilted walls we had in TS1. Everything else has been rehashed to death, but for some reason, nobody seems to have done anything with walls at all. We have new ways to interact in build mode with them, and new coverings for them, but the conceptual model of walls and rooms is still lifted straight from TS1.

Looking at Wurm or Subnautica, the walls feel organic to the experience, they just belong with the rest of the game, and enhance the immersion. Even in ARK, they at least don’t detract from it. Since I realized what was bothering me, every time I see walls in TS4, they just look jarringly out of place.
I’ve played for years with walls down for functionality, now I can’t believe I missed just how much they visually clash with the rest of the game today.

My worst nightmare is building/decorating outdoor in the Sims 4… I like my sims worlds to look very “true to life” and I feel like interiors are easy due to the geometry of them and the excess clutter available, but outdoor decorating is daunting.
