True, compared to previous iterations you guys don’t have as much, but to be fair, your vamps were soooo well done. Their personality system was what I wish regular old boring sims had. Groups and Parenthood helped somewhat, but I don’t play with aging on bc I’m so controlling lol so my sims stay stale.

Okay, as someone who’s not a family player, and doesn’t get involved much with that side of gameplay – that was the wrong word to use.
In my mind realism and family are so similar they’re basically the same thing.
I clarified in a comment to someone else here that I essentially meant SimTuber style players, and EA’s Game Changers like Deli or SimLicy, or LilSimsie.

It seems that things are more aimed towards their preferred style of play.

Now that you’ve broken it down, I can see there isn’t much – granted.
As someone who doesn’t know much about what that style of gameplay includes, I guess using that word was a mistake and ignorant 😛

Though it is certainly a very popular theme, I wouldn’t put it past the Sims4 team to push releasing the version they intend for this iteration down the road a ways. Probably making way for packs like: “Fairlyland,” “400 Ways To Stare At a Wall,” and “Be a Bug.”

100 times this!!! I find family play extremely boring but I’m all in for supernaturals. And the only well done supernaturals are Vampires. Aliens are too human, plant sim are basically just sims painted green (I had to download a mod to make plantsims doing things logic for them). Even with the reaper you can’t do anything, ghosts are annoying since they have needs they shouldn’t and skeletons are, well, sims skeleton.

Tbh I’m losing hopes on the supernatural field. The majority of the last packs goes around realism/family and if the next is University it feels like they are not even considering the other part of the players.

I think a student themed pack is an obvious choice for the next big pack. I hope it is done well – I think it might be the last item on my top priority list for TS4.

Absolutely agreed. That’s more or less what I was trying to say (seems you managed to express it better ;)). I don’t understand why should university deserve so much attention, when in reality it’s “just” another education step. If primary school and high school are just rabbitholes, then why isn’t university included in the same way from the start? And if it needs to be more fleshed out, then why don’t the other schools? I don’t get EA’s logic in here. It seems to me they’re just copying earlier Sims games without thinking whether it makes sense or not. Making university a separate pack back in TS2 days made sense, because it was a new idea, new age group – basically, an afterthough, an addition to the game, something exciting. Right now we do have young adults from the start, the thought of sims studying is nothing new and inventive, and yet we have to wait years for some uni/college themed pack because it has to come separately, as a BIG THING.

If we already had rabbithole universities in the game and EA announced some education-based expansion pack, I would be really excited. Like you said, something for ALL schools. Right now I’m considering finally buying GtW, which I don’t care much about, only so that I could use Zerbu’s Get to School mod – and that’s telling something ;). But I highly doubt we’re going to get something like this: firstly, because Zerbu kind of already did the job for them, and secondly, because of the whole focus on the big university experience. But I can’t know it, of course. Maybe I’m wrong and EA is planning a big surprise, and we’re going to get a big education overhaul in June. After all, this survey didn’t specify what kind of “students” we’re talking about 😉

(I guess my whole ‘meh’ attitude towards university comes from my own university experience: when I look back on it, I recall mostly lots of studying and going to lectures, with an occasional party here and there, so I don’t really get what the whole ‘student life’ is supposed to mean. Or how could it be any interesting ;). I just need some transition period, so that my sims wouldn’t have to start working full-time at the age of 19! The only thing which made this part of my life stand out was that I was living with a flatmate instead of parents/boyfriend/husband… And I’m not sure if EA is any willing to implement this particular part of my ‘uni experience’ in the Sims, seeing how they failed to include it back in City Living).

I actually pinned Students as the winner but vs. equestrians.

It was obvious students was going to win. I would have voted for it if it was schools for all age groups, but I have no interest in a college pack. TS4’s gameplay is already dedicated 99% to young adult sims, let the other life stages get some gameplay. I’m glad legacies and elders made it to the top 8; it should show the team how much people want the other life stages fleshed out.
