I can’t even remember now if TS1 had proper height levels.
I haven’t actually used the height tools in TS4 yet, but this did make me realize it gives some purpose to the potentially massive unused space on the huge lots.
Difficulty is deader than a doornail, but this also made me think there was a missed opportunity with lot border unevenness ala TS3 being an elegant difficulty factor. The Sims has never really dealt with difficulty organically, but there are a lot of overlooked built in metrics that could have become a new difficulty game mechanic.
