Big Stuff like the microscope can be integrated into almost any build with a bit of creativity. I’ve done that before with other stuff. Just because something doesn’t have the size of a kitchen counter doesn’t mean you can’t put it in the kitchen if you want. If it absolutely requires to increase the size of the kitchen, and you absolutely don’t want to make the house bigger as a response, just make another room smaller or merge two rooms into one. Instead of having a separate bedroom, place a bed in the living room instead of a couch. I grew up in a caravan, like a mobile home. There is absolutely no issue using your bed as a couch. Speaking from experience. And a Witch in a small hut in the woods would do similar stuff as well.
There are a lot of solutions to this sort of stuff, if you are just creative enough.
