The sims people make me sick… they put all kind of cloth for homosexuals.. ok there.. but them they put a LOT of muslin clolth, and NONE of jews or christians… and some of the woman clolth are quite ‘offensive’, specially for feminism-mimi people, hypocrite people…

You know what else isn’t a choice for a woman in most western countries? Covering her breasts. With the exception of some topless beaches, women are expected to wear clothing that keeps her nipples hidden at all times while in public. Why is that? Because of modesty — most western countries were or are traditionally Christian, and Christians like to keep certain parts covered up. There are many people in tropical climates where both men and women go topless, especially during the warm times of the year. If a woman from one of those countries comes to, say, the United States, or England, or whatever, she’s be expected to cover her chest and could be prosecuted by law if she didn’t. Is that oppression? Do you, as a woman (assuming by your username), feel oppressed because you have to wear a top in public?

Problme is that once an Item is in the game sims will begin being generated with it. I do not want the Islamic symbol of female oppression in my sims. Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, or the Gaza Strip, you’re required by law to wear one. Till it is a choice it does not belong.

So you admit that it is an item of Oppression that it is NOT a choice. Items of Oppression Also do not belong in the sims. The Hijab does not belong it will never belong as long as it is forced upon women.

And yet the hijab has been highly requested for years. I don’t remember back to Sims 1, but definitely as far back as Sims 2 fans have been asking for hijabs. There have definitely been cc hijabs for Sims 2, 3, and 4.

The hijab is based in religion, yes, but it’s also a big part of the culture of a large part of the world. Muslim or not, if you’re a woman living or even visiting Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, or the Gaza Strip, you’re required by law to wear one; it’s not a law but still a good idea in a dozen other countries. And the Sims has always, always, always been about self-expression and recreating yourself and your loved ones. If you’re a Sims player living in, say, Malaysia, that’s going to mean that any female sims you create are going to wear a hijab or headscarf.

Nope, not when christmas has little to do with the holiday any more. For example it has nothing to do with Christ in Japan. When you think of Christmas you are more likely to think of Santa not Jesus. And Hanukkah, is infact a minor holiday. Add to that the game has no out right religious garbe. If they wanted to be culturally diverse why did they not at the same time the YArmulke ? It is just as well know and of the same cultural signigigane. The Hijab is not a fasion choice it is a religioue one that has no place in the sims.

I don’t believe that anyone is so dishonest that they would fabricate reasons for avoidance of simple projects. I believe that they knew that re-development of the sims engine would be a heavy undertaking, and that the first iteration of the new engine would never meet community requirements, unless they invest their entire budget for all projects. The leaking/abuse/greed/conspiracy/broken product noise is all community entertainment, and a good way to keep offended players engaged. It’s clear that they have an extended plan, and I’m hoping that they’ll keep TS4 framework when they begin development of the next version, because this is as close as we’ll ever get to “The Sims 2: Remastered,” which is what everyone wants.

That can be written easily for The Sims 4, but again, excessive iteration of data is a problem, since the engine is asynchronous, and relies on timing of operations to create the appearance of sentience (reactivity to others and environment). TS4 engine doesn’t really lag – tuning errors cause sims to wait for entire cycles before selecting their next interactions, or in some cases, an exception may lock the scheduler for a cycle, and all sims will wait. The problem with simulating at fixed intervals is that faults stop the entire process for one iteration, and the problem is worsened on economical hardware. It’s not broken, but there are very few independent modders, and those who are well-known won’t want to publish anything which brings them into conflict with EA community policies – that would defeat the purpose of supporting the product. It CAN be done with TS4, and the code is written well-enough that anyone can do it, but someone doesn’t want us to!
