I have a 2011 iMac and honestly I thought the Legacy Edition was going to be something good :(. I eagerly downloaded the patches and found out I was required to download Legacy even though I thought my computer ran in 64-bit. I should have carefully read the forums as I made an awful mistake. Not only can University- the most long awaited pack in the sims 4- not be played but we can’t even access the gallery anymore! Why was that removed?!
Quite frankly, after this required patch I have lost so much interest in the game, there is so much not to look forward to in the sims series anymore! It’s truly disheartening because the game used to be such a good series. I’ve been playing the sims since I was a young child. I loved the stories that came with the pre-made sims in the sims 2 and 3, the uniqueness of each character, the neighborhood characters were connected in each neighborhood and there was an endless amount to do just in one lot. I tried to root for the simgurus throughout all the complaints simmers have dealt but this was the final blow to my heart. No University 🙁 No Gallery 🙁 . Even all my save files were deleted 🙁 Please don’t forget to back them up, guys.

No big deal. Apple ended Mac OSX Lion support 6 years ago. Basically computers which don’t support newer Mac OSX versions than Lion are released over 10 years ago.

Oh my, is it really going to automatically update even though it’s no longer compatible? That’s great, shitstorm is coming.

Yep just that version. If your machine can update to newer software you are fine, but the machines that can’t update further than Lion 10.7 can’t play. I wouldn’t imagine that amounts to very many players.

I hope this isn’t a stupid question, so please don’t be mean. But is this just referring to macOS Lion 10.7, and not any other? Like if my mac is updated to something else, would my game be okay to download the new patch? If not, then I wanna just make sure to disable the auto download. Thank you!

I hope this isn’t a stupid question, but is this just referring to macOS lion 10.7, like if my mac is updated to the new updates, would my game still be fine to update the new Sims 4 patch? I’m just curious so I know to make sure my game doesn’t automatically install the new patch. Thank you!

My gosh, most people don’t read these forum posts and Origin is set by default to automatic install updates. Maxis team/developers should find a way to block updates for this system. It’s gonna be a mess.
