I know I gripe a lot about the flaws of the past couple installments, but that doesn’t mean I hate The Sims. On the contrary, if I did I wouldn’t care enough TO hold the cynical attitude towards EA that I do for their consistent mistreatment of the franchise.

If that bothers you, then please just block me on Disqus, as that is a far more amicable and effective way to never see me complain or talk down EA again than responding to me with “love it or leave it” ultimatums.

Yes, at times it feels like a monetization mess…but I still enjoy playing the game and that should still matter over buying packs. If you no longer enjoy the sims, don’t play or buy the packs anymore, simple as that.

No guarantee given how long 4 outstayed it’s welcome and soured a lot of fans of the franchise who are dying for a more feature-rich Sims, experience, of course, but we can always hope.

Besides, I suspect EA is going to shoot themselves in the foot again somehow with Rene. It looked too good to be true at announcement and the focus on “online experience” and “free-to-play” just SCREAMS “DLC delivery platform” in ways only EA can, and that might push people back to older Sims games.
