Like most, I anxiously awaited the release of Pets in The Sims 4. We went from having all of those expansions in The Sims 3 to starting all over again with a blank slate. Luckily for us, that long wait is over and we can finally soak in all the cuteness and love that these Pets have to offer. Let’s just jump right in before we all explode from excitement!

1. Create A Pet or CAP?

You have so many options when you start out. Make an adorable animal that resembles yours or make the animal you wish you had. You have a third option though…Play around with the designs and make a very strange looking animal. Your choice!

2. Move to Brindleton Bay

Not only do you get these amazingly adorable animals but you also get a whole new world to explore too. If you really want to take in the new feeling of pets in your game then I would definitely recommend packing up and starting new in Brindleton Bay. There’s a pre-made Vet Clinic, Parks, and so many other places to play and train your Pets. If you are like me and really enjoy building, then build your own Vet Clinic and run it yourself!

3. Check Out The New Items

Cats and dogs have their own items like beds, scratching posts, toys, and even automatic feeders. But our sims also get new things as well! As you can see the backyard is the perfect place to train your pets. Train them to run the obstacle course and your pets will be pros in no time!

4. Owning Your Own Vet Clinic

I built and own this vet clinic!

You don’t want to miss out on a very big part of the game. I didn’t think owning a vet clinic would be very fun but it surprisingly is. You get to meet so many different cats and dogs from all over the neighborhoods and help make a difference in their lives. I didn’t realize how much it would affect me to see all of these poor sick animals and feel the need to rush in and help all of them.

I recommend having one examination table for every employee that you have plus one extra. I still haven’t bought any advertisements since I have more patients than I can handle right now.

After examining some pets for a few minutes they will become stressed and you will have to comfort them.

5. Loving These Beautiful Creatures

Last but not least, spend some time with your pets and get to know them. Depending on the traits you’ve given your pets, you may very well end up with a needy pet. I have a dog that follows me around everywhere and can’t get enough attention. Her name is Chloe and she is a Chion – Chihuahua/Papillon!

You can also reprimand your cat or dog for doing things that you don’t want them to do. Cat loves scratching the furniture, climbing on the counter, and eating human food. Dogs might bark too much or be very aggressive towards others. Nothing a little training can’t fix!

Gizmo got into trouble for this multiple times and he is now trained to not eat human food!

If you haven’t bought this expansion yet, I highly recommend that you do! For me, this expansion is everything that I’d hoped it would be.
