For each issue of Mod News we will bring you important news and information that mod users should know. This includes:
- Mod/CC News – Overview on what broke with the last patch. Any other news about Mods/CC that we feel you should know. Additionally, we’ll let you know of any updates that popular mods like MCCC, Wicked Whims, etc has received.
- Creator News – News on creators, if they’re on hiatus, retiring, etc.
- New Mods – Compiled list of recently released mods.

Mod/CC News
♦ Patch News ♦
On Thursday (September 3rd), we received a patch for the Star Wars Game Pack. Behold the damage:
- CC Windows and Doors
- Andrew over at Sims4Studio is close to having a batch fix for them. You can help this process by providing him with links to CC Windows/Doors that are broken.
- Recolors may be working fine, I know the recolors I made for personal use weren’t affected.
- Custom Loading Screens
- Rabbit-hole Mods
- This includes mods that change anything related to rabbit holes, such as:
- NPC invites (Circus, Concert, Theater, etc.)
- Volunteer Events
- Daycare
- University Building Rabbit-hole Interactions (Lectures, Soccer Games, Tutoring, etc)
- Auditions & Gigs
- This includes mods that change anything related to rabbit holes, such as:
Note – This tuning change is not included in the actual rabbit-hole Careers. I didn’t see anything in the tuning changes that would affect rabbit-hole Careers. However, that doesn’t mean there weren’t changes in the python.
So, for those of you asking, “Are Custom Careers broken?”
It depends. If a Custom Career has rabbit-hole interactions that need to be completed, then they will need an update. For example, the Lawyer Career (came with University) has the “Pass the Lawyer’s Exam” interaction which sends them to a rabbit-hole. So, the Lawyer Career would need an update.If they don’t have any of those special rabbit-hole interactions and the only time they vanish into a rabbit-hole is to simply go to work, then they might be fine. However, use at your own risk.
♦ Mod Updates ♦
Always check for updates to your mods after patches. Even if a mod seems to work, sometimes it still needs updated. Here’s some info and links to help you keep your mods up-to-date:

- Become a Sorceror – Last updated September 3rd.
- MCCC – Last updated September 3rd.
- SCCO – Last updated September 5th.
- TOOL – Last updated September 7th. This update is needed to load Batuu.
- Wicked Whims *NSFW* – Last updated September 4th.
- UI Cheats Extension – Last updated September 3rd.

- KawaiiStacie – Several updated for the patch.
- LittleMsSam – Several updated for the patch.
- Scarlet – Several updated for the patch.
- Scumbumbo – Couple mods updated by Basemental for the patch.
- SimRealist – Few updated for the patch.
- Mod the Sims – If you download mods from MTS, there’s a very easy way to see if you have the latest version of any mod that you downloaded from there:
- Click on My Links in the upper-right corner and select My Downloads. This shows a list of everything that you’ve downloaded from MTS, including when it was last updated and if you have the latest update. Very handy!
- More Updated Mods
- Please make sure to check Luthrienrising’s Broken/Updated Mod list on the official forums to make sure you have the latest updates from all of your favorite creators!
❗ Never download mods from sites that host other people’s work without the creator’s permission. It’s disrespectful to the original creators to support sites like that because they try to profit from it by making you pay to not wait for the file that they didn’t even create. Additionally, they’re not guaranteed working versions.
♦ Sim File Share ♦
Sim File Share is still in the process of moving to a different server. Therefore, you may experience issues when trying to download anything hosted there. Use alternate links (if available) provided by creators.
Creator News
♦ Modders on a Break ♦
Sometimes modders take a break from modding, sometimes due to real-life, other times just to take a breather. Modders that are currently known to be on a break:
- Bienchen
- Sacrificial
- Although he did update his mods for 1.66, he’s still taking time off. Additionally, there’s reports that his updated mods are still causing Last Exceptions.
These modders will update their mods when they can, so please be patient.
New Mods
Please keep in mind that this not a complete list. Also, if the same mod is created by two different modders, the one created first will be listed.
For this issue, I’m only including a handful of New Mods that I know of that are confirmed Compatible for the September 3rd patch.

- Better Swiping – Increases what and when you can swipe.
- Eco Club Trait Fix – Fixes the Traits Not in Club Menu bug.
- ECO Living Trashcan Fix – Trashcan should only fill up now when the “Reduce and Recycle” lot Trait is added.
- Freelancer Career Fix – Fixes the Freelance Career bug.
- Healer – Magic Career – Semi-active career available only for witches and wizards. Also learn 4 new spells.
- Immortality Potion Tweaks – Prevents Sims with the Immortality Trait from aging and/or removes the VFX that occasionally gets applied to Sims with the trait.
- Rags to Riches Aspiration – Adds all rules of the Rags to Riches Challenge to this aspiration.
- Science Fair Event – Let your children or teens participate in Science Fair and win the trophy!
