SimGurus took to Twitter to answer some questions on The Sims 4 Snowy Escape.
I can’t wait to build some proper stages in my game! 🥰 I love everything about platforms but that detail is my personal fav!!!!! #Sims4SnowyEscape

We did not add the ability to create shallow or deep pools with this update. But that’s a great suggestion!

Pools cannot be built on top of platforms with this update.

Yukimatsu will always have snow on the ground due to it’s high elevation.
But players with seasons and snowy escape will still experience rain and other weather types in Yukimatsu, even though there will always be snow on the ground in that neighborhood.

We purposefully left those types of trees out when creating the world areas in Yukimatsu, however, underneath the hood, seasons are still occuring in Yukimatsu even though the weather is always a little colder and snowy there.

You can add those trees yourself if you build on those lots. And last time I checked they do change colors due to the seasons changing.

Snow depth like you saw in livestream only occurs in Yukimatsu.

That behavior is specific to the hot springs I believe. @SimGuruPJ was the hot springs producer. He can correct me if I’m wrong!

@SimGuruAzure is right – it is only for the indoor or outdoor versions of the Hot Springs 🙂

As long as it’s one stair step, Sims will route just fine through a door threshold on the edge of a raise platform.

That is Onsen lot type behavior. It’s not specific to the new shower.

Let's just say I've left my mark on one of my features 😉
— Pumpkin Spiced PJ (@SimGuruPJ) October 19, 2020
Psst, by the way… there's one more lot that you won't find on the interactive map. A big ole' empty 50×50 lot that sits adjacent to the Onsen Bathhouse in Yukimatsu for you to build on however you please 😉

There are so many great locations to paint Mt Komorebi from in #ts4snowyescape
It's a great place to move your Sims who are great artists. pic.twitter.com/o8ENantlX9— SimGuruGeorge (@SimGuruGeorge) October 30, 2020
@SimGuruAzure I would love to know as I doubt it was addressed, but if one has fitness Stuff and Snowy Escape, does the climbing wall from Fitness add to your mountain climbing skill?
— JaycemeforaSuck (@ChacemeSwain) October 30, 2020
The climbing wall will earn you rock climbing skill.
— SimGuruGeorge (@SimGuruGeorge) October 30, 2020
Yup!
— 🎃❄️SimGuruPopcorn❄️🎃 (@SimGuruPopcorn) October 30, 2020
I gasped out loud when I saw these in game for the first time.
— 🎃❄️SimGuruPopcorn❄️🎃 (@SimGuruPopcorn) October 30, 2020
Try having your first kiss there!
— 🎃❄️SimGuruPopcorn❄️🎃 (@SimGuruPopcorn) October 30, 2020
Unfortunately no, but def try and the Festival of Light.

1⃣ Can apartments become rental lots? A: You can't modify the lot type of an apartment, so they can't be changed to rental lots. That said, penthouse lots on top of the buildings in San Myshuno can be changed to rentals – perfect for taking a vacation to the city!
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) October 31, 2020
2⃣ Can hot pot be served in restaurants? A: Sims order their meal in restaurants, which is then prepared by the staff and brought to your table. Because hot pot is cooked directly at the table by the Sims who will be eating, it's not part of the service that restaurants provide.

Snowy Escape + Dine Out does let you create a Japanese-inspired restaurant menu with new offerings in every course. There are 11 drinks, 2 appetizers, 14 entrees, & 2 deserts to choose from. That's not counting the new festival foods, unlockable recipes, or vending machine foods.
