Limited Edition Content

The Limited Edition Quantum Power Pack features a hibernation chamber and multi-function power suit. As a new interactive object and outfit, the chamber & power suit provide the following abilities to Sims:

Revive from Stasis (Hibernation Chamber) – Sims who are already in stasis can be revived using this interaction. They will then resume their life and age as they did before being “frozen”.

Equip/Remove Power Suit (Hibernation Chamber) – Sims can put on, or remove, this multi-function suit.

Run Bio-Stabilizer (Power Suit) – This interaction will even out a Sim’s motives, giving players some extra time before having to attend to their Sim’s needs.

Scan Environment (Power Suit) – This interaction scans the current lot for Insects, Rocks, Gems, Metals, and Seeds.

Jump Through Wormhole (Power Suit) – This interaction teleports the active Sim to any other lot in the world.

Interactive Loading Screens (Optional)

The Sims 3 Into the Future includes brand new interactive loading screen games. The hidden object game consists of screens from expansions, stuff packs, & store worlds, giving players a chance to find objects based on the “clues” at the bottom of the screen. These interactive loading screens will appear when loading a game via the main menu and traveling to sub-hoods, but are completely optional.

For every object you find, the game will give you Lifetime Happiness Points. Once in game, these points will be distributed evenly among all members of your active household. To turn off this option, visit the menu > general settings > un-tick “Enable Interactive Loading Screens” at the bottom.

Travel Sickness

One of the disadvantages of traveling to and from the future is Travel Sickness. Sims who receive the “Time Paradox Sickness” moodlet cannot cure themselves, so they should immediately head to the hospital for a cure.

Not only is travel sickness a mood killer, it ultimately becomes a “Sim Killer” if left untreated. The series of moodlets associated with time sickness is as follows:

Time Paradox Sickness Moodlet (-5 mood/lasts 4 hours)

Blinking in and out of Existence (-10 mood/lasts 24 hours)

Do I even exist? (-20 mood/lasts 24 hours)

There is plenty of time and plenty of chances to seek help during this sickness, however, Sims who allow the “Do I even exist” moodlet to run out will die by Time Anomaly.

Futuristic Tombstones

Tombstones have been updated with this expansion, giving all death types (expansion packs included) new “futuristic” tombstones. They come in a variety colors and sizes, and also have the ability to project a Hologram of the deceased Sim.

❗ Only small tombstones allow for a hologram projection of the deceased Sim. To view the hologram, select “mourn”.

❗ These tombstones are only available when Sims die in Oasis Landing. All tombstones in the present time remain the same.

The Lottery

Sims with a few extra bucks in their pockets can head over to the Grocery Store and purchase (infinite) Lottery Tickets for 10 simoleons each. Just as it stands in real life, there is no guarantee that your Sims will win, but purchasing more than one ticket will increase your chances.

❗ Purchasing tickets for the daily lottery ends at 6pm, Lottery Numbers are drawn at 7pm, and ticket sales for the next lotto cycle begin at 8pm.

When visiting the future, Sims have a chance to alter their luck in the “present time” and end up winning a big chunk of change. To increase their chances of winning the jackpot, have your Sims visit City Hall in Oasis Landing and check the “Lotto Records”.

If successful at checking the lotto records, Sims will receive the “Insider Tips” moodlet

lotto

Once your Sims have successfully checked the lottery numbers in the future, head back to the home world and purchase lottery tickets from the Grocery Store. With the increase in luck by having insider tips to the lottery, your Sims could end up hitting it big.

Sims will receive a check if they win! (Check size varies by amount)

Screenshot-52 Screenshot-53

Winning a jackpot is only half of the reward. Sims who win the lottery and donate 50,000 simoleons to the Future Fund at City Hall will receive the “Renowned Philanthropist” Statue. The reward for unlocking this statue is the ability to give away Simoleons to other Sims.

❗ Giving away Simoleons is only possible in Oasis Landing. Additionally, Sims can only give away three different monetary amounts: §1, §100, & §1,000

Engineer a Baby

Technology in the future is definitely advanced, and now Sims can head to the Hospital of the Future and engineer a baby together. You can choose to randomize the baby’s DNA, or customize the baby’s Gender, Hair Color, Eye Color and Traits.

If the engineering is successful, your Sims will instantly welcome a new baby to the world. Please note that engineering a baby will change the course of time, eliminating your future descendants.

New Traits

Bot Fan – The boom in Bot technology has left many Sims fascinated and intrigued by these complex machines. While many Sims are at home with their organic bodies, some would prefer to be a Bot instead.

The Bot Fan Trait activates a “Bot Suit” for Sims. Not only is this an exclusive outfit to Sims with the bot trait, but it also allows Sims to enter Plumbot Competitions at the Bot Arena. (Plumbot Competitions are further explained in the “Plumbots” section of this guide)

Screenshot-3

Unstable – When a pile of disjointed components rattle around a Sim’s head, they tend to be called “Unstable.” Their traits are in a constant unpredictable flux and delusional episodes are just around the corner.

The Unstable Trait has consequences. While it makes for some funny and delusional Sim episodes, these delusional episodes can cause permanent changes to a Sim’s traits.

Unstable Sims who wake in a foul mood, risk the chance of receiving the “Impending Episode” moodlet. This moodlet can last up to 6 hours, and if untreated, will turn into the “Delusional” moodlet for 24 hours.

Once the moodlet changes from Impending Episode to Delusional, one of the Sim’s traits will randomly change. Sims who are not treated for instability at the Hospital within 24 hours, risk a permanent change in their traits.

Sims who “Take Deep Breaths” (Active Sim interaction) while Impeding an Episode, or admit themselves to the hospital for treatment within the 24 hour Delusional period, will reverse the trait changes.

Lifetime Wishes

High Tech Collector – Most Sims use technology and some may understand it, but few truly appreciate it the way you do. By amassing a vast collection of your most beloved hardware, you might build a living museum to the machines you love!

(Master the Advanced Technology Skill and own a Windcarver, Dream Pod, Food Synthesizer, Holo Disc, and Jet Pack)

Made the Most of my Time – So few Sims get the opportunity to Time Travel, and you’re determined to make the most of it! Tweaking alternate timelines is an obvious choice, but what if you could also achieve immortality by winning your community’s eternal respect?

(Experience all Alternate Futures and be honored with a Legacy Statue)

More than a Machine – Through dedicated study, you may build great Plumbots. It takes very special inspiration to imbue them with Sentience! Those superb citizens bridging this gap are examples to Sim and Bot alike: symbols of the civilization they both share.

New Collectibles

Nanites

Nanites are one of the components used to create Trait Chips for Plumbots. These new collectibles (20 total) can be found in Oasis Landing, but finding them in your home world is only possible if you complete a collection challenge.

Once you have completed the “Nanite Collector” collection challenge – (find one of each type of Nanite) – wild Nanites will start to appear around your personal Bot Building Station. This is the only way to “catch” Nanites in your home world.

Sims can also design and create Nanites directly at the Bot Building Station. Nanites that are created are more valuable than those caught, therefore increase the value of Plumbots when sold.

While all Nanites can be designed and created on the Bot Building Station, Sims will only be able to create Common and Uncommon Nanites (14 total), until they “catch” and reverse engineer the remaining 6 Rare Nanites. (Reverse Engineering Requires Bot Making Skill Level 3)

Reverse Engineering Nanites will automatically give Sims the knowledge to create Nanites on the Bot Building Machine. This eliminates the “design” process. Additionally, Reverse Engineering turns Nanites into Blank Processors, which are also components for creating Trait Chips for Plumbots.

Common Nanites – When Reverse Engineered, Common Nanites produce 2-4 Small Blank Processors.

Uncommon Nanites – When Reverse Engineered, Uncommon Nanites produce 2-4 (Random) Small & Medium Blank Processors.

Rare Nanites – When Reverse Engineered, Rare Nanites produce 2-4 (Random) Small, Medium & Large Blank Processors.

Crystal Plants

Screenshot-36

Crystal Plants can be found in the wasteland area of Oasis Landing, and offer mood altering effects on Sims when harvested. Crystal Plants are just like any other plants, needing to be tended to and watered. The big difference between these plants and others, is the Emotional Charging.

Emotional Charging the Crystal Plants determines what type of “emotion” they can be harvested in. They can be charged with Kindness, Laughter, Rage & Love. Sims can emotionally charge crystal plants once every 20 minutes, and once you have chosen a specific emotional charge, you will not be able to change it unless you “Neutralize” it.

Emotionally Charging a neutral plant with Rage

Screenshot-39

Neutralizing a plant can be done at any growth state. Simply click the plant and “Neutralize”. When neutralizing the plant, the emotional charge percentage goes back down to zero, ultimately making the crystal nothing more than a regular crystal. (You can keep track of the emotional charge percentage by scrolling over the plant)

In order for the crystal plants to be harvested in an emotional state, the charge must exceed 70%. This can be accomplished by infusing emotion upon the plant 3-4 times. Once the charge exceeds 70%, the crystals will take the form of one of the available emotional states.

❗ Once a Sim harvests crystals from a plant, they can plant and grow more on their home lot. The Crystal Plant does not require any Gardening Skill level to plant.

Clicking on the harvested crystals in a Sim’s inventory will give them the option to harness the emotions on themselves, or imbue a nearby Sim with the emotion.

The following Emotionally Charged Crystals can be harvested:

Kindness Crystal – The Kindness Crystal clears any (non-permanent) negative moodlets from your Sim, and gives them an optimistic mood boost.

Laughter Crystal – The Laughter Crystal turns a Sim into a comedic genius. Every joke is a hit.

Rage Crystal – The Fury Crystal make a Sim furious with rage. When interacting with other Sims, the rage induced Sim has a new interaction called “Fight Fists of Fury”.

Love Crystal – The Love Crystal blesses a Sim with the ability succeed with all Romantic Interactions.

Dew Plants

Screenshot-14

When visiting Oasis Landing as a Utopian world, Dew Plants are just one of the many visible changes to the world’s setting. Dew Plants produce “Dew” that Sims can harvest, and then use to change their body color from head to toe.

Dew, depending on the type, also gives Sims special temporary and permanent moodlets. Dew Plants produce dew every 1-2 hours, and each plant produces a random variety of dew types. Find any Dew Plant in the world and harvest away.

Screenshot-10

Another option that appears on the Dew Plants is the “Shake” interaction. Shaking the Dew Plants will produce one of the following results: Dew Spritz or Water Dump. The Dew Spritz does not affect the Sim in any way, while the Water Dump will give your Sim the two hour “Soaked” moodlet.

Screenshot-9 Screenshot-8

Once your Sim has harvested dew in their inventory, the have the option to use it on themselves, others, or blow a “Dew Bubble”. Blowing Dew Bubbles is nothing more than a new colorful interaction.

Screenshot-12

One of the major interactions with dew is using it on yourself and others. When splashed with Dew, Sims can turn into a variety of colors!

Sim colored by Dew

Screenshot-30 Screenshot-29 Screenshot-28 Screenshot-31

The following Dew Types can be harvested from the Dew Plants:

Rainbow Dew – Rainbow Dew assaults the senses in the best possible way! It’s a cornucopia of color. Sims who have Rainbow Dew splashed on them will receive one of two moodlets: “Wonderland (+40/3hr)” or “Retching Rainbows (-15/4hr)”. The Wonderland moodlet is only permanent when Sims are in Utopia.

Black Dew – This Dew is so black that it’s true color is a mystery. No one will know its real color until it’s used. Sims who have Black Dew splashed on them will receive a +10/3hr color moodlet that corresponds with the random dew color they turn into.

Blue Dew – Blue is a regal color, striking from a distance and ideal for a mysterious vibe. Sims receive the “Blueified (+10/3hr)” moodlet.

Yellow Dew – Yellow Dew is a delight, and shattering laws of physics by turning Sims yellow! Sims receive the “Yellowfied (+10/3hr)” moodlet.

Orange Dew – Since orange is the most eye-grabbing color, Orange Dew calls out to ostentatious Sims. Sims receive the “Orangified (+10/3hr)” moodlet.

Light Blue Dew – Light Blue Dew is delicately distinct from its darker doppelganger, suggesting the shade of the sky! Sims receive the “Light Bluefied (+10/3hr)” moodlet.

Red Dew – Cherry Red Dew is the choice for any Sim seeking out a hot-headed appearance. Sims receive the “Redified (+10/3hr)” moodlet.

Pink Dew – Pink Dew gives any Sim a delicately refined appearance sure to win admirers anywhere. Sims receive the “Pinkified (+10/3hr)” moodlet.

Green Dew – Green Dew soaks up sunlight superbly, making it a perfect match for darker earth tones. Sims receive the “Greenified (+10/3hr)” moodlet.

Purple Dew – This dew may look like grape jelly, but Sims are advised not to ingest it. Sims receive the “Purplified (+10/3hr)” moodlet.

Clear Dew – This dew nullifies the color effects of other Dews.

Sims who travel to Oasis Landing in a Utopian state receive the “Wonderland” moodlet. This is a permanent moodlet that enables new interactions between Sims. However, Sims who are not experiencing the future in a Utopian state, can also experience the effects of Rainbow Dew. When used on Sims, Rainbow Dew gives Sims 3 hours of “Wonder”.

Wonderland Moodlet (+40) – Sims who receive this moodlet when using Rainbow Dew will receive the following interactions:

The following options become available with the active Sim, regardless of what world they are currently in:

♦ Hug Self (Ages T,Y,A,E)

♦ Throw Confetti (Ages T,Y,A,E)

♦ Whimsy Waltz (Ages T,Y,A,E)

♦ Special Walk (Ages C,T,Y,A,E)

The following options become available when interacting with other Sims, and are only available when Sims are also in the Utopian World:

♦ Silly Wave (Ages C,T,Y,A,E)

♦ Encourage Silliness (Ages C,T,Y,A,E)

♦ Hug Someone (Ages C,T,Y,A,E)

New Foods & Drinks

Screenshot-60

Eating in the future is meant to be different, and with Into the Future adding a Food Synthesizer in buy mode, Sims can automatically create any food dish without cooking. They don’t even need a Cooking Skill!

The Food Synthesizer is already programmed with all game recipes (expansion included), and allows Sims to program new recipes as they increase their Advanced Technology Skill.

❗ If you have The Sims 3 Pets Expansion installed, Sims can create Synthesized Gourmet Pet Food via the Food Synthesizer

❗ Food Synthesizers found at the “Future Base Camp” or on residential lots, are already programmed with all the food items (new ones included), therefore can only be programmed when located on a home lot that your active household owns.

❗ Sims must pay for Food dishes when the Food Synthesizer is on a non-active lot.

The quality of the food is “Normal”, however, Sims can improve the quality of the food as they increase their Advanced Technology Skill. Food quality will range from Normal to Outstanding when fully upgraded.

The following recipes can be programmed into the Food Synthesizer:

Fruiti Bobs (Requires Level 1 of the Advanced Technology Skill)

Sphere of Destiny (Requires Level 3 of the Advanced Technology Skill)

Chocolate Mini-Gnome (Requires Level 5 of the Advanced Technology Skill)

Nutrition Cube (Requires Level 6 of the Advanced Technology Skill)

Statuesque Surprise (Requires Level 8 of the Advanced Technology Skill)

Screenshot-61

Not only can your Sims create Synthesized Food, they can also use the same method to create new drinks! Sims who purchase a Drink Synthesizer can order a random Synthesized Drink, however, Sims who have increased their Advanced Technology Skill to a level 4 can choose exactly which new Synthesized Drink they receive.

Magical Gnome

Voltron Gnome – In order to assemble the Voltron Gnome, you must find all 5 llama parts in Oasis Landing. The best place to search for these parts is on the Alien Pedestals located inside the Crash Site, or by excavating the ground in certain areas of the wasteland.

New Deaths

Death by Time Anomaly

❗ Additionally, your Sim’s descendants will die by Time Anomaly if you have altered the present time in any way. Everything you do in the present affects the outcome of the future. If your descendants have passed away, look for their tombstones in the mausoleum.

Death by JetPack Fall

Flying high with a JetPack is an adventurous experience for Sims. Sims who are masters of the Advanced Technology Skill will fly around the world worry free, however, Sims who are very inexperienced with the JetPack may crash into the ground and die.

Death by Meteor (Plumbots)

Although Plumbots do not age, they can still be killed by a meteor. Whether the game auto spawns a meteor when you have The Sims 3 Ambitions Expansion installed, or your Plumbot happens to be in a Dystopian future with Into the Future, a meteor will kill a Plumbot in its path.

Future Tombstone Hologram

The Future Tombstone Hologram is a special effect attached to the futuristic tombstones given to Sims who pass away in the future (Oasis Landing). When “mourning” the small tombstones, a projection of the deceased Sim will appear above the tombstone.

While this ghost is specifically attached to the tombstones of the future, you can create ghosts of this color in Create-A-Sim when you have The Sims 3 Supernatural Expansion installed.
