Perfect Llama | Have a Sim bowl a prefect game of all strikes on the Bowling Lane |
Pre-Built Lot
The Sims 4 Bowling Night Stuff adds a new Pre-Built Lot that you can add into any world. The lot can be found and placed by entering your Library in The Sims 4 Gallery.
Oasis Springs Dust Bowl (Bar, 30×20, §68,036) – Is it a mirage? No, it’s an oasis of affordable entertainment! Finally bowling has come to Oasis Springs so you don’t have to kick rocks in the desert to pass the time.
Bowling Lanes
The Sims 4 Bowling Night adds the brand new “Ten Pin Adrenaline” interactive object. This is available for purchase in buy mode for §545 Simoleons, and can be placed on any lot.
❗ Groups of bowlers will only show up when two or more lanes are added to the Bar, Nightclub, and Lounge venue types.
❗ When placing bowling lanes on lots other than the three mentioned above, Sims can autonomously choose to bowl if they want to.
If you want to create your own bowling alley from scratch, there is plenty of decor available with this game to compliment a build. Additionally, there are two Bowling Ball Racks that allow for more bowling ball color options to Sims with higher levels of the Bowling Skill.
❗ If you don’t want to build an area for Sims to bowl, you can also place the “Oasis Springs Dust Bowl” pre-made lot into your world for use. This lot includes everything needed for a proper bowling exprience.
Once your Sims are ready to bowl, they have several options available to them. The following interactions are available to Sims when clicking on bowling lanes:
- Bowl – Sims can use this interaction on unoccupied bowling lanes for a round of solo bowl.
- Invite to Bowl – Sims can use this interaction on unoccupied bowling lanes to invite up to 3 additional Sims for a round of competitive bowling.
- Watch – Sims can use this interaction to watch other Sims bowl.
- Join Bowling Game – If Sims are already bowling, other Sims can use this interaction to join them. Up to 4 Sims can play in one lane.
- Enable/Disable Moonlight Bowling – This option is available by default when playing on non-residential lots. This enables/disables “glow in the dark” bowling. Bars, Nightclubs, and Lounges offer Moonlight Bowling from 7-11pm weeknights, & 11am-2pm on the weekends.
- Upgrade – Sims with a level 5 Handiness Skill can upgrade bowling lanes on their home lot to include Moonlight Bowling.
Once Sims begin interacting with the bowling lanes, they will automatically acquire the Bowling Skill. Increasing this skill will improve their form and their score. Sims who are just getting stated will need to work hard to reduce falls, trips, and other low level mishaps.
❗ Sims will automatically change into bowling shoes when they bowl, so you don’t have to make them the default shoe style for Sims in Create-a-Sim.
❗ Sims with a level 5 Bowling Skill will automatically put on the bowling glove accessory when they bowl. This can also be added by default in Create-a-Sim.
With the basics out of the way, it is time to have fun bowling! Whether a Sim plays solo, or joins a competitive game of bowling, the following set of “house rules” apply:
- One shot per frame to promote rapid play.
- Scoring multipliers are in effect based upon each Sim’s Bowling skill.
- Bowl consecutive center hits to activate “On Fire!” mode.
- Bumpers are automatically enabled for child bowlers.
- Bowl 10 strikes for a “Perfect Llama” game.
As your Sims participate in bowling, whether it be playing or watching, they will receive random moodlets along the way. The following moodlets appear in game:
Bowling King/Queen (Confident +3 for 2hrs) – All hail the Bowling King/Queen! Long may he/she reign!
Bowling by Moonlight (Happy +3 for 2hrs) – This Sim looks positively radiant after a bowling match through the cosmos.
Over Bowled (Uncomfortable +2 for 2hrs) – This Sim’s arms have gone completely numb. They will be worse at bowling until they recovers.
Sore Arms (Uncomfortable +2 for 2hrs) – This Sim’s muscles are starting to feel tight from all this bowling. Consider taking a break.
They Cheated! (Angry +2 for 2hrs – Requires Hot-Headed Trait) – Don’t you dare ask this Sim how some other Sim cheated at bowling… it should be obvious!
Bowling Bystander (Happy +2 for 2hrs) – There’s something soothing about the rhythmic roll of a bowling ball followed by the crash of ten pins.
The more a Sim bowls, the better they get. Each level of the bowling skill helps them achieve the ultimate goal: Perfect Llama! Sims who reach level 5 in the Bowling Skill will have a chance to score a “Perfect Llama” game, which requires 10 strikes in a row per game.
Sims who manage to score a perfect game will complete the Perfect Llama achievement, and also unlock the Perfect Llama Trophy in buy mode. Display it proudly!
Bowling Skill
The Sims 4 Bowling Night introduces the all-new Bowling Skill. Sims of all ages (with the exception of infants and toddlers) can master this skill by using the Bowling Lanes found in buy mode. As Sims level up the Bowling Skill, they will unlock new bowling balls, improve their form, and improve their score.
Bowling Skill Level 1 – Sims have acquired the Bowling Skill, and can also select the “Sky Blue” bowling ball from the ball rack.
Bowling Skill Level 2 – Sims can now select the “Red Swirl” bowling ball from the ball rack, and will throw less gutter-balls when playing.
Bowling Skill Level 3 – Sims can now select the “Gold Glitter” bowling ball from the ball rack, and will stumble less often when releasing the ball.
Bowling Skill Level 4 – Sims can now select the “Marbled Blue” bowling ball from the ball rack, will fail less often when throwing the ball, and will start to throw more strikes.
Bowling Skill Level 5 – Sims can select the “Clear Skull” bowling ball from the ball rack, Adults will now wear a bowling glove while playing, and all ages will throw strikes on a more consistent basis. (Sims at this level can score a “Perfect Llama” game)By default, all Sims will use the “Matte Black Ball” when bowling for the first time, but as long as there is a Bowling Ball Rack placed onto the lot, Sims will be able to rotate through all the available bowling ball options. Ball selection cannot be done while Sims are bowling.
The Bowling Skill has just 5 levels, but it is not easily increased. Based on observations from our game, the skill increases at a slower rate than any other skills in the game. It will take a whole lot of gutter-balls and failed attempts in order for Sims to become pro-bowlers.
Having the Sims 4 Get Together expansion installed allows Sims to create clubs around bowling, and purchasing the “Bowling Skill Boost” will help club members increase it at a faster rate. This is the only way for Sims to increase the skill faster.
Build/Buy Mode Objects
The Sims 4 Bowling Night includes 36 buy and build mode items. This includes objects, build items, styled rooms, and every other item that was included with the game. The slideshow below contains 34 of these objects, with the “Styled Rooms” listed right below.
The slideshow begins with the “Seema Ottoman” and ends with the “Venue Wall Speaker: NuDisco”. If you prefer to view the images individually, check out the album on Flickr.
