Today, we are putting the Simmer Spotlight on an incredibly active member of the community, SimsVIP, the online news resource for all thingsThe Sims.

What made you want to start a Sims specific site?

The Sims is not just a hobby for me, it is also an addiction. I found myself always wanting to be up to speed with the latest news and games, so I decided to feed that addiction by sharing my finds with others on SimsVIP.com. By running a news outlet for The Sims, I’m able to get my own “daily fix” of Sims news, while also providing other players with information on their favorite game. I love the game and I love working on the website. It’s a win/win for me!

What would you say was the most memorable post you have ever had on Sims VIP?

On April 1st, 2012, I decided to take the press release from The Sims 2 Seasons, change the wording and post it as an “official” EA announcement for The Sims 4. Even with the April Fools tag and a line of text stating it was a hoax, many players fell victim to my silly side. Some readers were not too happy with me when they found out it was a hoax!

What is your fondest memory of The Sims, in-game or in real life?

My greatest real life Sims experience was attending The Sims 4 Creator’s Camp at EA’s headquarters in 2014. Meeting other players from around the world, and being a part of a true “Sims Experience”, is something I will never forget. How many people can actually say they’ve visited the studio and team that creates their favorite game? It is mind blowing that I can!

My fondest in-game memory was watching my Sims die…uhhh, I mean…meeting the Grim Reaper for the first time. The Grim Reaper and I are pretty good friends. *wink* *wink*

As a player, what kind of a Simmer are you? Builder or storyteller?

I am a Sim Creator and personal Storyteller. I spend over 70% of my time creating unique Sims for my game, and use them in stories for the purpose of in-game photography. I’ve told some great stories and captured some great moments in my game!

What SimsVIP accomplishment are you most proud of?

The site has grown so much since its inception in 2011. Knowing that the content I provide has readers coming back for more, is a major accomplishment for me. It means I’m doing it right. SimsVIP currently boasts over 1.5 Million monthly readers, and the numbers grow each year. I’m proud to have created a space that has attracted so many amazing people that have formed such a wonderful community.

What is your favorite new feature introduced in The Sims 4?

My favorite new feature is the dose of life injected into The Sims. No longer are they predictable. Sims in The Sims 4 are realistic in the sense that they act like us humans do, with animations and emotional aspects bringing it all together. Sometimes their facial expressions say it all!

Is there anything else you would like to share?

When I started playing The Sims for the first time in 2000, I never imagined that I’d be so invested in the game so many years later. I’m thankful for the many opportunities I’ve received, and for the players around the world who are the backbone of SimsVIP. I have been an avid player for 15 years, share a great love for The Sims series and am blessed to be a part of this community.
