In a recent image sharing spree on Twitter, several Gurus shared photos of “pins” they collect with each release of a game or other important milestones. One such photo was shared by Dave Miotke, also known as SimGuruNinja within the Simming community.

When asked by a fellow Maxis producer on the whereabouts Dave’s “5M” Pin, SimGuruNinja shared this image which displays a 5M (assumed copies) pin.

With doubt of whether or not this pin represents the amount of Sims 4 Base Game copies sold, SimGuruNinja was quick to respond to a fellow simmer with the following:

The Sims 4 has been crowned Best Selling PC Game for 2014 and 2015 by the ESA, so it makes sense that the game would be performing well. In comparison to previous series, Wikipedia’s Best Selling PC Games List shows The Sims at 11.24 million copies sold, The Sims 2 at 6 million copies sold, and The Sims 3 at 7.72 million copies sold.
