SimGuruLegacy has officially confirmed that the Sims 4 console team is working hard to bring mouse & keyboard support to both Xbox One & PlayStation 4. Legacy goes also goes on to say that they do not have an exact date for this update, but will keep players posted.
OK, I couldn't contain it any longer… As you might have guessed, we are working on bringing Mouse & Keyboard support to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of The Sims 4.

And don't worry if you prefer controllers. Controllers aren't going anywhere and we will continue to make improvements and adjustments based on your feedback and ongoing internal review.

And you can keep doing that. Or if you prefer you can grab a USB mouse and keyboard, plug them into your PS4 or Xbox One and use that instead. Of course we need to add the support first, it won't do anything right now in The Sims 4.

It is a BIG feature so it is going to take some time but we'll be sure to let you know as we get closer to knowing more.

It'll actually add additional complexity into porting as console will support more control schemes and we need to make sure they all work with everything.

Exactly. Once we release an update with the support that is.

It won't be in the next update, it is a big feature that we have been working on and need to get it right and account for all of the things unique to consoles.

We'll have information about progress and when it will be available as we get things locked down and ready to go.
