On January 7th, 2019, Enthusiast Gaming announced an agreement to acquire 100% of the assets of The Sims Resource. In a press release posted to their website, they stated that they were acquiring the site for $18 million in cash and $2 million in stock for an aggregate purchase price of $20 million. The closing date is set for February 15, 2019.
The Sims Resource has not made any public announcement yet, so it is not clear how (if at all) this acquisition will impact those who upload and download to/from the site. When the deal officially closes on February 15th, we’ll be sure to update with any additional info.
