The Anniversary Party Event is now available, giving players 7 days to complete the necessary steps that will reward them with the final “Karaoke Jamboree” object. This event also grants “Balloons” for completing everyday and event related tasks, and is the required currency to purchase the various CAS and Build/Buy items.
Balloons are used to purchase things from the “Anniversary” reward center. This rewards center has different items available for purchase, and a special prize tracker that will unlock new rewards as you collect balloons. The Prize Tracker content is unlocked between 125 and 12,700 Balloons, and the prized vary. More on this later.
The event requires you to collect Balloons to progress and purchase rewards, and these can be collected by performing everyday tasks like socializing, finishing work shifts, completing events, or interacting with other Sims. The balloons can be used to purchase items from the special Anniversary Party Boxes found in the rewards center.
To begin this event, select the “Quests” tab on the right side of your screen. If you do not see the Limited Edition “Anniversary Party” Quest, restart your game.
To complete the Anniversary Party Event, you’ll have to complete 27 individual quests in the game. Purchasing Items From Anniversary Boxes
While completing quests and events related to the Anniversary Event, or by performing everyday random tasks in the world, Sims will earn special “Balloons”. This currency can then be redeemed for special CAS and Build/Buy items in the game.
There are five types of Anniversary Boxes: Mega, Deluxe Mega, Marvelous, Wonderful, and Fabulous. The only difference between them is that some require Balloons and others require SimCash.
To access the Anniversary boxes, select the “Birthday Cake” icon on the upper right side of the screen, or select the “Store” icon on the top left of the screen.
The Anniversary Party Boxes consist of CAS and Build/Buy Items released throughout the last year. Items are listed by “rarity” (Common, Uncommon, and Rare) and your chances of receiving them depend on the game. There’s also some other rewards includes like Fashion Gems and SimCash. The Mega Anniversary Box contains ALL items.
When clicking the currency button in each box and “buying it”, you are technically “rolling the dice” so to speak. Realistically, these are chance boxes. You are not guaranteed to get different items each time, you will receive many duplicates, and you are not able to select what you receive either. The item you receive varies and is based on “chance”.
Items are tagged by rarity. This means you have a 60% chance to unlock Common items, a 25% chance to unlock Uncommon items, and a 15% chance of unlocking Rare items. Select the information icon on the Box to view color tags for each item. The Deluxe Mega Anniversary Box has better odds for rare items.
With the way this system is set up, you will end up receiving plenty of duplicates. This is ok in the beginning as you may need to collect multiples of items to complete the set, but this will eventually lead to an excess of items. When this happens, items will be converted into special rewards that vary depending on the rarity of the item.
Collecting and Spending Balloons
As you collect Balloons in the event, you will unlock special prizes and purchase items with a price tag. All of the rewards available to you are found in the Rewards Center.
This section is accessed by tapping the Cake icon on the top right side of the screen in live mode. In this rewards center you will find TWO prize sections:
- Prize Tracker
- Anniversary Box Rewards
Prize Tracker Rewards
As you collect Balloons during the event, the Prize Tracker meter will fill up. This tracker depends solely on collecting Balloons, and does not require spend. You will need to collect a total of 12,700 Balloons to unlock all the rewards available.
One note to mention here is that the first prize that is unlocked is the “Anniversary Decor”. This item will fill with Balloons every 11 hours. When it’s full, it’ll yield 125 Balloons. Once the tooltip appears above, you can click to redeem the Balloons. The tooltip will inform you how many pieces the bowl currently has.
