SimGuruFrost has tweeted out a series of tweets regarding changes to the Maxis Monthly live stream. Among the changes mentioned, Maxis will now only host a stream when free base game content is ready to be shown to the community. Additionally, Frost confirmed there won’t be a Maxis Monthly stream in August, but he’s looking into something to “tide everyone over for a time”. See the detailed tweets below.
Fourth, improving on #MaxisMonthly. A lot of key words used were: new or upcoming, content, information, and interesting. We are going to continue hosting a #MaxisMonthly livestream on @Twitch ONLY when we have FREE new content coming to #TheSims4 base game.

Meaning if we have nothing new to show, there will no #MaxisMonthly. Date/time/contents for #MaxisMonthly will be communicated out ahead of time. We are also looking at upgrading various livestream elements including accessibility but that is still TBD/TBA.

We will also use #MaxisMonthly as an opportunity to share info related to Maxis/The Sims franchise when appropriate. One thing to note is that not every #MaxisMonthly will have new content for every type of player, example: terrain tools vs first person mode vs CAS stories.

Remember we are a large and diverse community with varying desires. Lastly, there will be no August Maxis Monthly because we do not have anything new to show right now. HOWEVER I am looking into something else that will hopefully tide everyone over for a time. Fingers crossed 🤞
