The Sims team has confirmed that several hairstyles in the game will be improved with the December game patch. Included are two children’s hairstyles (braided ponytail with/without baby hairs) and the flat-top texture hairstyle.
On Dec 8, we'll be adding over 100 new skin tones to TS4. Every skin tone will have a value slider to unlock thousands of customizable options! We’ll make compression improvements to make new & existing skin tones better, including strengthening the quality of suntans & sunburns

The Dec update also includes four makeup sliders! The hue slider lets you control your color, while the value slider lets you adjust brightness. You’ll be able to adjust transparency with the opacity slider & control how much color is in your makeup with the saturation slider.

Also, three more base game hairstyles will see improvements in the December update. These include two children’s hairstyles – the braided ponytail with baby hairs and the braided ponytail without baby hairs – and the flat-top texture hairstyle.

In addition to these fixes, The Sims team has confirmed they are working on the Big Afro hairstyle as well. While this fix will not be included with the December patch, they will be releasing details on this fix sometime in the future.
